This paper confirms the practical effect of applying Artificial Neural Networks (ANNs) using Radial basis function (RBF) bases on Sliding mode control (SMC) to control nonlinear systems. The proposed algorithm is put into comparison with the super twisting 2-SMC, which was designed to reduce chattering and increase the performance of conventional SMC.

The paper presents a new approach to the speed control of a switched reluctance motors (SRM) is that using a back-stepping controller combining with an artificial neuron network based flux estimator. The nonlinear mathematical model of switched reluctance motor (SRM) is established and the back-stepping control strategy is applied to control SRM. The ANN will be used to estimate the flux of the motor instead of approximated model or experimental values.

In this paper, a robust hierarchical method for trajectory tracking control of a quadrotor unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) subjected to parameter uncertainties and external disturbances is presented. A robust control scheme based on a fast nonsingular terminal sliding mode strategy is designed to achieve fast response and excellent tracking accuracy. Moreover, a radial basis function artificial neural network with online adaptive schemes to estimate unknown aerodynamic parameters and external disturbances is developed to improve the control performance and reduce the chattering phenomenon.

The paper introduces fuzzy compensation control algorithm based on fuzzy logic to control the rotation speed in CБШ-250T drilling machine. The proposed solution uses an artificial neural network instead of a vibration measuring sensor to identify the amplitude and vibration frequency on a rotary drill. AI-based neural network is set up for helipad detection, followed by optimization by the localization algorithm. Forecasting of stream flow and ground water level changes became an important component of water resources system control and challenging task for water resources engineers and managers. The ground water level data and rainfall data of twenty years from 1996 to 2015 were collected. Artificial neural network (ANN) is used to predict water resources variable. The model was trained, validated and tested for randomly divided samples. The regression analysis shows good correlation between each other within the range 0.12 to 0.97 of Abhanpur block.

A new method for predicting the service life of tunnel structures subject to chloride-induced corrosion using data from real engineering examples and genetic programming (GP) is proposed. As a datadriven method, the new approach can construct explicit expressions of the prediction model. The new method was verified by comparing it with the chloride-ion diffusion model considering eight corrosion influence factors.
