  • Lipases are secreted by many fungi, yeasts and bacteria. The suitable habitat to isolate lipase producing microorganisms is the oil contaminated sites. In Ujjain a very famous „Navgrah-Shani‟ Temple situated at the Triveni Ghat of Kshipra river, where devotees from all over India come and worship the lord and it is an unique oily habitat for isolation of lipase producing microorganisms. The present study was aimed to isolate, screen and identify the lipase producing fungi from the oil contaminated soil.

  • Among Arid Zone Fruits, tamarind, Tamarindus indica L. of the family Leguminosae is a major fruit crop. Survey was conducted to find out major disease of tamarind and found black pod disease was major constraints. Black pod of tamarind incidence was observed range from 8.00 -22 per cent in pod on tree and incidence in storage was observed 5-22.5 per cent at different location in Jhalawar district during 2013 to 2017. Subsequently, the pathogen was isolated and pure culture of fungus established.

  • Fungi associated with dried copra causing deterioration of copra and copra oil were investigated under present investigation during 2017-18. For this experiment, the infected copra samples were collected from local farmers (near by Dr. Balasaheb Sawnt Konkna Krishi Vidyapeeth, Dapoli) and Regional Coconut Research Station (RCRS), Bhatye (Ratnagiri) in Konkan region of Maharashtra State, INDIA.

  • Otomycosis is an acute, subacute or chronic fungal infection of the external auditory canal. It is worldwide in distribution with a higher prevalence in the hot, humid, and dusty areas of the tropics and subtropics. A wide variety of fungi can cause Otomycosis. In this study, our aim was to determine the most common mode of presentation, predisposing factors, and the spectrum of fungi involved in Otomycosis. 60 Ear discharge samples were collected aseptically using two sterile cotton swabs. One swab was used for direct microscopic examination and used for fungal culture.

  • Entomopathogenic fungi suppress the diverse group of insect pest such as coleopterans, lepidopterous and sucking pest. Wide spread incidence of Aspergillus niger, Aspergillus flavus and Aspergillus tamarii was observed during extensive and repeated survey covering different agro ecological niches of Dhule, Nandurbar, Jalgaon, Nasik and Beed districts of Maharashtra (India) on insect cadavers infected with fungi. From the insect cadavers the fungal isolates were isolated on PDA media.

  • Survey was conducted during 2014-15 for the isolation of mycoflora from the egg masses of Meloidogyne incognita infecting crops like tomato, brinjal, pea and ameranthus from five different locations viz., Charigaon, Alengmora, Danichopari, Namdeori and Barbheta of Jorhat and Golaghat district of Assam. The egg masses were collected and surface sterilized in 0.4 per cent sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl) for two minutes. Further these egg masses were washed thoroughly with sterile distilled water until the traces of NaOCl was removed and placed in potato dextrose agar plate.
