An easy-to-make new working electrode, an ex-in-situ AuF/GCE, was developed for trace As(III) detection. A gold film electrode prepared ex-situ was re-plated in-situ during each arsenic deposition step by adding Au(III) into the analyte solution.

A biocompatible nanocarrier system was prepared in this research through the reaction of calcium alginate (CA) with chitosan (CS). The structure of developed nanocarriers (CS-CA) was characterized by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), Fourier transforms infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy, field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD) atomic force microscopy (AFM), and transmission electron microscopy (TEM).

Three new 2-component unsubstituted (4P), diiodo- (5P), and dibromo- (6P) distyryl-BODIPY-bridged cyclotriphosphazene dimers were designed and synthesized. The newly synthesized BODIPY-cyclotriphosphazene systems were characterized by 1 H, 13 C, and 31P NMR spectroscopy. The photophysical properties of the distryl-BODIPYs (4–6) and BODIPY-cyclotriphosphazene dyads (4P–6P) were studied by UV-Vis absorption and fluorescence emission spectroscopy.

An anthracene based fluorescent probe, integrated with thiophene moiety, exhibited selective and sensitive detection of chromium (III) ions over other metal ions. The synthesis, structure, and luminescent properties of a samarium(III) complex (A2) containing benzoyltrifluoroacetone (HTFPB) and 1,2-bis[(anthracen-9-ylmethyl)amino]ethane (BAAE2) ligands are herein reported. The structure of A2 has been elucidated by infrared spectroscopy and single crystal X-ray diffraction. X-ray crystallographic analysis demonstrated that A2 has a mononuclear structure with a formula of Sm(TFPB)3 (BAAE2) in which Sm3+ ion is coordinated to six O-atoms from three TFPB ligands and two N-atoms from one ancillary ligand (BAAE2).

In exploiting the analytical capabilities of plasma-based spectroscopy method, the evaluation of plasma parameters, particularly the plasma temperature, is a crucial step. In this work, a modified SahaBoltzmann plot, which uses the columnar densities of atomic and ionic ground levels, is utilized to calculate the plasma temperature in a laser-induced plasma from an aluminum alloy target. The columnar densities are here calculated by quantifying the self-absorption of resonance lines. It is demonstrated that this is a promising method for accurate determination of plasma temperature.

Excimer lasers are pulsed gas lasers that intrinsically offer efficient and powerful broadband emission at several spectral regions throughout the ultraviolet. The spectral widths are typically 2 nm. An exception to this categorization is the XeF laser urith its broadly tunable C+A transition (approximately 50 nm) in the visible. The broad tunability results from the steeply repulsive A state.
