This compound displayed the affection of ATPase activity of the recombinant ClpC1 protein, a regulatory protein of Mycobacterium tuberculosis. In addition, compound 1 exhibited anti-inflammatory activity through the inhibition of TNF-α on LPS-stimulated macrophage RAW264.7. This is the first time compound 1 (indole-3-carboxylic acid) has been isolated from S. wuyuanensis. Indole-3-carboxylic acid was also reported for the first time its inhibition of M. tuberculosis ClpC1 protein.

P-glycoprotein (P-gp), a member of the ATP Binding Cassette B1 subfamily (ABCB1), confers resistance to clinically relevant anticancer drugs and targeted chemotherapeutics. However, paradoxically P-glycoprotein overexpressing drug resistant cells are “collaterally sensitive” to non-toxic drugs that stimulate its ATPase activity.

The use of nanoparticles (NPs) has increased in recent years and consequently they are being released into the environment. The final destination of most NPs is the aquatic environment due to washing up by rain waters. Fish (n = 120) were exposed to different concentrations (0, 1, 5, and 25 mg/L) of aluminum-oxide (Al2O3), copper-oxide (CuO), and titanium-dioxide (TiO2) NPs for 14 days and 14 days of depuration period (no NP in water). Following NP exposures, activities of Na,K-ATPase, Mg-ATPase, Ca-ATPase, and acetylcholinesterase (AChE) in the brain and muscle were measured.

The steady-state growth of recombinant ClpC1 protein in Luria-Bertani (LB) broth High Salt medium was maintained and stabilized after extraction. The determined ATPase activity of ClpC1 was performed by measuring the released phosphate from the reaction. Ecumicin was chosen to be a control compound with expected ATP hydrolysis activities (Hill coefficient = 1,19 ± 0,217; Kd value = 0,52 ± 0,275).

SWI/SNF regulates half of its targets without the need of ATP-driven nucleosome remodeling by Brahma
Brahma (BRM) is the only catalytic subunit of the SWI/SNF chromatin-remodeling complex of Drosophila melanogaster. The function of SWI/SNF in transcription has long been attributed to its ability to remodel nucleosomes, which requires the ATPase activity of BRM. However, recent studies have provided evidence for a non-catalytic function of BRM in the transcriptional regulation of a few specific genes.

Actomyosin from fresh pinkperch (Nemipterus japonicus) meat was isolated and its properties were assessed. The SDS-PAGE pattern indicated multiple bands in the molecular weight range of 210 5 KD to 2104 KD. The dynamic viscoelastic behaviour revealed sol-gel transition at 2 temperatures, 36.7°C and 63.3°C. Setting of actomyosin at 30°C for 1 hr could increase the storage modulus values significantly. The freezing and frozen storage of actomyosin alter solubility in high ionic strength buffer by 17.9% and reduction in Ca++ ATPase activity by 41.8%.

School of Biosciences, University of Birmingham, Edgbaston, Birmingham, UK; 2Shifa College of Medicine, Islamabad, Pakistan.Curcumin is a compound derived from the spice, tumeric. It is a potent inhibitor of the SERCA Ca2þ pumps (all isoforms), inhibiting Ca2þ-dependent ATPase activity with IC50 values of between 7 and 15 mM . It also inhibits ATPdependent Ca2þ-uptake in a variety of microsomal membranes, although for cerebellar and platelet microsomes, a stimulation in Ca2þ uptake is observed at low curcumin concentrations (,10 mM )....

The human multidrug resistance-associated protein (MRP1) is an ATP-dependent efflux pump that transports anionic conjugates, and hydrophobic compounds in a glutathione dependent manner. Similar to the other, well-characterized multidrug transporter P-gp, MRP1 comprises two nucleotide-binding domains (NBDs) in addition to transmembrane domains. However, whereas the NBDs of P-gp have been shown to be functionally equivalent, those of MRP1 differ significantly.

ThemaltoseATP-binding cassette transporter ofSalmonella typhimurium is composed of a membrane-associated com-plex (MalFGK2) and a periplasmic receptor (MalE). In addition to its role in transport, the complex acts as a repressor ofmaltose-regulatedgene expressionand is subject to inhibition in the process of inducer exclusion. These activities are thought to be mediated by interactions of the ATPase subunit, MalK, with the transcriptional activator, MalT, and nonphosphorylated enzyme IIA of the glucose phosphotransferase system, respectively. ...

The vacuolar H + -ATPase (V-ATPase) is a multimeric enzyme complex that acidi®es organelles of the vacuolar system in eukaryotic cells. Proteins that interact with the V-ATPase may play an important role in controlling the intracellular localization and activity of the proton pump. The neuroendocrine-enriched V-ATPase accessory subunit Ac45 may represent such a protein as it has been shown to interactwith themembrane sector of theV-ATPase inonlya subset of organelles.
