In higher education, e-learning is gaining more and more impact, this new kind of traditional teaching and learning can be practiced in many ways. Several studies have compared face-to-face teaching to online learning and/or blended learning in order to try to define which of the formats provides, e.g., the highest learning outcome, creates the most satisfied students or has the highest rate of course completion. However, these studies often show that teaching and learning are influenced by more than teaching format alone.

A computational algorithm is developed for estimating accurately the attitude of a robotic arm which moves along a predetermined path. This algorithm requires preliminary input data obtained in the static mode to yield phase observables for the precise, 3-axis attitude determination of a swinging manipulator in the dynamic mode. Measurements are recorded simultaneously by three GPS L1 receivers and then processed in several steps to accomplish this task.

This paper contributes to the body of literature on knowledge sharing through insight into the relationship between the format of questions asked of individuals who are sources of knowledge and the attitudes of those that have been given the opportunity to cognitively integrate this knowledge into their own knowledge base. Aspects of the theoretical model proposed by Bircham (2003) are empirically evaluated, with results supporting the model.

A recent report has found that public attitudes to asylum in the UK have reached new levels of hostility. 25 Some politicians have responded to perceived public concern over asylum and immigration by emphasising restrictive policies. 26 The media has a key role to play in the formation of public attitudes and observers have argued that the UK press has encouraged negative attitudes towards asylum seekers. 27 There have been a number of studies, which have noted the way in which particularly the newspaper media construct asylum seekers as threats or problems.

Development of the case studies was based on literature review and interviews with persons inside and outside EPA. The number of interviewees per case study varied roughly from a half dozen to a dozen. There was an effort to ensure balance in the group of respondents for any particular case study, but because of the relatively small number of respondents and the non-random nature of the selection process, extreme caution should be taken in interpreting the numerical response summaries that are reported.

The 2003 PM rate of 60% for laser printers is similar to the 2000 rate of 61% for “high end color” printers. In 2000 some inkjet and wide-format printers were in low power, but in 2003 we found none. The 2000 study did not report on thermal or solid ink printers, probably because few or none were found. Solid ink is not a widespread printer technology; in 2003 we found four, all in the same building. Of 41 thermal printers in our 2003 sample, only 15%...

However, the extent to which parents are actually providing quality SHE to their children is unclear. Respondents rarely identify their parents as a primary source of sexual health information (Ansuini, Fiddler- Woite, & Woite, 1996). Further, in one study, only 61% of students felt that their parents had done a good job providing them with SHE (McKay & Holowaty, 1997). Similarly, McKay et al. (1998) found that 70% of the parents they surveyed felt that most parents do not give children the SHE they need. Although 73% of the parents surveyed by McKay et al.
