In this study, the gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) were synthesized via redox reaction, by using ethylene diamine tetra-acetic acid (EDTA) as a protecting and reducing agent, with tetrachloroauric acid (HAuCl4) as precursor and seed solution. The ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy (UV-Vis) method was utilized to investigated the reaction conditions (the EDTA:HAuCl4 ratio, the amount of seed solution and stirring solution time) at room temperature. The synthesized AuNPs were deposited on the surface of fluorine doped tin oxide (FTO) by electrophoresis deposition.

The oxidation of ethylbenzene (EB) using tert-butyl hydroperoxide as the oxidizing agent was carried out in presence of gold nanoparticles (3 nm) supported on zinc oxide in acetonitrile solution. A higher selectivity towards acetophenone (ACP) as the major product, and a moderate selectivity towards other products such as 1-phenylethanol (PE), benzaldehyde (BZL), and benzoic acid (BzA) were observed using the prepared Au/ZnO nanocatalysts at 100 °C for 24 h.

The immobilization method and atomic concentrations of Si 2p, Au 4f, S 2p, C 1s, N 1s, and O 1s of the resulting SA–biotin modified Si surface were determined by XPS. The CD spectrum and confocal microscopy imaging confirmed that step-by-step modification and bioconjugation can be monitored successfully. Such detailed and well-defined step-by-step characterization provides good information about the surface properties of biosensor platforms. In addition, the LSPR sensing ability of the Au Np based platforms was studied by using a model SA–biotin system.

In the present study, we have follwed the hydrothermal path for the synthesis of gold nanoparticles (Au NPs) from the biomaterial Elaeocarpus ganitrus seeds extract, which is a rapid, eco-friendly, non-chemical way. A set of catalysts having gold nanoparticles deposited on γ-Al2O3 (Au/γ-Al2O3) with lowest effective amount of gold content were prepared by successive impregnation and hydrogen reduction method. The structural features of prepared catalysts were analysed by X-ray diffraction (XRD), N2 physisorption, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and Fourier transform infrared (FTIR). An inexpensive, simple, highly sensitive, and rapid fluorimetric method was developed for the analysis of pseudoephedrine hydrochloride at trace levels. The method is based on the recovery of fluorescence of Rh6G dye due to the interaction of pseudoephedrine hydrochloride with Rh6G-Au NPs complex, which results in the release of Rh6G from the complex and halting fluorescence resonance energy transfer between Rh6G and Au NPs. The intensity of fluorescence was directly proportional to the concentration of the analyte, which was used for its determination.

Due to environmental concerns, increasing attention has been focused on the application and preparation of biobased polymers and their blends. In this study, cellulose, the most spread biopolymer on Earth, was used in the preparation of novel cotton/polypropyleneAu and cotton/polyethylene-Au nanocomposites via a green mechanochemical approach. First, mechanoradicals were generated by ball milling of the cotton and thermoplastics under cryo conditions, and then, these radicals were used in the reduction of Au ions to Au nanoparticles (Au NPs).

This study reports a detailed analysis of an electrode material containing poly(phenolphthalein), carbon nanotubes and gold nanoparticles which shows superior catalytic effect towards to hydrazine oxidation in Britton–Robinson buffer (pH 10.0). Glassy carbon electrode was modified by electropolymerization of phenolphthalein (PP) monomer (poly(PP)/GCE) and the multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) was dropped on the surface. This work describes the synthesis of mixed oxide film of vanadium and ruthenium by pulsed deposition technique on multiwall carbon nanotubes and the decoration of gold nanoparticles on the mixed film. A ternary electrocatalyst has been developed for the electrochemical oxidation of hydrazine by combining two metal oxide mixtures with Au nanoparticles. Surface morphology and chemical composition of the electrode have been examined with SEM, EDX, HRTEM, EIS, and XRD.

This paper outlines the synthesis of the glass/FTO/Au/ and of the glass/FTO/Si/Au/ multilayers and some obtained experimental results. Based on the measured results we observed that the structure of the sputtered Si layer is an amorphous phase meanwhile the structure of the sputtered Au layer is a crystallized phase.
