Auxins on rooting of different types

The study was conducted at College Nursery, Department of Horticulture, B. A. College of Agriculture, AAU, Anand to evaluate auxins on different types of stem cuttings. Two different auxins like IBA, NAA at 2000, 4000 and 6000 mg l-1 were applied to the hard and semi hard wood cuttings with control and absolute control.

Three newly selected superior banana types were used to study the effects of different cytokinins and auxins on shoot multiplication and rooting. Benzylaminopurine [(BAP) (5, 10, 20 and 30 µM)] and thidiazuron [(TDZ) (0.4, 1, 2 and 3 µM)] were tested alone and with 1 µM indoleacetic acid (IAA) for the propagation stage.
