This study aimed to assess the effectiveness of different fertilizers doses with organic manures on micronutrients availability in turmeric (Curcuma longa L.). A field experiment in completely randomized block design was conducted with eight treatments which were replicated thrice. The eight treatments were comprised of four soil test crop response based treatments along with farmer’s practice, general fertilizer dose, soil test based and absolute control.

Organics and micronutrient management practices on soil available nutrient and yield of aerobic rice
Therefore, the common micronutrient deficiency of aerobic rice envisages that it has become imperative to give due consideration for organics usage along with micronutrients.

The DTPA extractable cationic micronutrients, sulphur and some important soil physico-chemical properties were investigated in two cropping system of Ramanathapuram district of Tamil Nadu using GPS technique. Considering the critical limits of soil micronutrients, all soil associations were not adequately supplied with DTPA extractable micronutrients in rainfed chillies and rice cropping systems.

Nine typical pedons from Langate Block of Kupwara district during 2017 were selected and surveyed for the purpose of collection of soil samples. The soil samples processed and analyzed for different nutrients. Available Micro and Macro nutrients were determined using standard techniques. The overall results showed that the soils are near slightly acidic to moderate alkaline in reaction, low to medium in organic carbon. In general the soils The available nutrients Nitrogen and Potassium were low to medium with the mean values of 287.99 and 149.

Distribution of available micronutrients and their relationship with different soil properties was studied in one hundred soil samples collected from different locations of 25 villages representing the soils of Garhi Tehsil of Banswara district, Rajasthan. The soils were analysed for textural separates, physico-chemical properties and status of available micronutrients. Texture of soils varied from sandy clay loamy to clay loam. On the basis of pH and EC values, these soils were found neutral to moderately alkaline and non-saline in nature.

The soils of Chittoor district was found to be suffering from one or other or combination of two or more micronutrients in 324 out of analysed 576 samples and constituted 56 per cent (Zn alone in 103, Fe in 40, B in 60, Mn in 5, Cu in 5 and multi micronutrient deficiencies in 107 samples). Among individual nutrients, the soils of Chittoor were found to be deficient in available zinc to an extent of 33 per cent and boron in 21% samples.

Iron is one of the most essential micronutrient for any living cells but the availability of iron is limited due to very low solubility of the dominant ferric iron (Fe3+) in soil. Bacteria can produce low molecular weight iron chelating compound called as siderophore. On account of that, an attempt was made in the present investigation to study the effect of siderophore producing rhizobacteria on growth of Okra and evaluation of biocontrol efficacy of the potential isolates against different phyto-pathogens in-vitro.

Iron and zinc are essential micronutrients for both plant productivity and nutritional quality. Although Fe is the most abundant transitional metal in the world, its chemical properties hinder its availability to plants. The research aimed to compare different genotypes of aerobic rice for their iron and zinc content and measures their comparative losses among different genotypes, from brown to white rice. Quantification of Fe and Zn was estimated by using X-Ray Fluorescence Spectroscopy in brown and white rice.

Present study was undertaken to evolve an efficient and reliable measure for management of sheath blight of rice through application of judicious doses of plant nutrients. In this investigation, the effect of different doses i.e. control dose (naturally available in soil), deficient dose, recommended dose and excess dose of macronutrients (N, P &K) & micronutrients (S, Zn & Fe) were assessed on incubation period for first appearance of sheath blight, disease severity and on phenolic contents in inoculated rice plants.

Proper assessment of available micronutrient status in soil is very important as their deficiency and toxicity range in soil is quite narrow. Deficiency of micronutrient may be due to low total content of elements caused by soil factors reducing their availability to plants. The present study was taken up to identify the micronutrients status in soils of different districts of Odisha viz. Angul, Cuttack, Deogarh, Dhenkanal, Khurdha, Puri and Sambalpur.
