Rainfall data for the period 1957 - 2015 is used to analyze nakshatra-wise, monthly, seasonal and annual variability of rainfall. The analysis of daily rainfall data (1957-2015) indicates that the average annual rainfall for the Aurad region will be 830.5 mm. The lowest and highest recorded annual rainfall was 280.4 and 1337.7 mm respectively.

Leaching behaviour of combination product (novaluron 5.25% + indoxacarb 4.5% SC) was investigated in sandy loam soil at 43.31 + 37.13 g a.i. ha-1 (single dose) and 86.62 + 74.26 g a.i. ha-1 (double dose) under laboratory conditions as per average annual rainfall of 400 mm. Residues of novaluron and indoxacarb were estimated at different depths of soil and in leachates with the help of gas liquid chromatography (GLC) equipped with electron capture detector (ECD). Method was validated by performing recovery experiments at different spiking (0.01 - 0.10 mg kg-1 ) levels.

Groundnut is an important oil seed crop in India cultivated in an area of 6.7 million hectares with a production of 7.0 million tonnes annually. The crop can be grown successfully in areas receiving the rainfall ranging from 600 to 1250 mm. The best soils for groundnut crop are sandy loam, loam and medium black with good drainage system. Present practice of manual harvesting and threshing consumes huge amount of labour to a magnitude of about 175 to 200 women h ha-1The highest average effective field capacity obtained using tractor drawn groundnut digger shaker was 0.35 ha h-1 .

Parbhani is intersected by 190 08’ N latitude and 760 50’ E longitude. The average annual rainfall at Parbhani station is 750-800mm, which is mostly received from south-west monsoon. The weather parameters include mean monthly rainfall, average weekly rainfall (AWR) and average annual rainfall. All other meteorological parameters were analysed on monthly basis to study the climatic variability.

Runoff estimation is a key factor in the design of soil and water conservation structures to prevent land degradation and erosion. In the present study, the Soil and Water Assessment Tool (SWAT) model was used to estimate the runoff in Pindwara watershed situated in the Sirohi district of Rajasthan and spanning over an area of about 1428 km2 . Temporal weather data of rainfall and temperature, digital elevation models, soil data, land use land cover imagery was provided to the model as input to estimate runoff at the watershed outlet.

District Etawah falls in western part of Uttar Pradesh. The district has 8 blocks and 696 villages. The net sown area of the district is 1.48 lakh ha with cropping intensity of 210 %. Normal annual rainfall of the district is 792 mm. Although some maize is consumed in the forest zone, it is not a leading food staple and much of the crop is sold. The major cash crop in the forest is cocoa. Annual rainfall in the forest zone averages about 1,500 mm; maize is planted both in the major rainy season (beginning in March) and in the minor rainy season (beginning in September).
