This paper examines the bank lending channel of monetary policy transmission and the effect of banking sector and capital market development on the lending channel using the bank-level panel data of 89 commercial banks in five ASEAN countries (Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore and Indonesia) over the period 1999e2011.

The study on the factors affecting the access to banking credits of family businesses in Tra Vinh province by directing survey of 250 family businesses in 7 districts and 1 city in Tra Vinh province in which multivariable regression model has been used. The results show that the access to banking credits of family businesses depends on gender, education, years of experience, income, assets and social relations.

The European Banking Authority (EBA) published its recommendation relating to the European bank recapitalisation plan on 8 December 2011.
