Farmers‟ participatory demonstrations on jute cultivation using zero tillage (ZT) technology were conducted in West Bengal through standardized conservation agriculture (CA)-jute protocols developed jointly by Uttar Banga Krishi Viswavidyalaya and International Maize and Wheat Improvement Centre (CIMMYT). The results of demonstration indicated a significant yield increase under ZT over conventional practices.On an average, an yield increase of 25.83-27.83% under zero tillage technology reflected the positive effect of demonstration over the existing practices.

An experiment was conducted at Model Floriculture Centre, G. B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar to study “effect of post harvest treatments on keeping quality and vase life of Asiatic hybrid lily cv. Arcachon” 2015-16. The experiment was conducted during two consecutive years (2012-13 and 2013-14) to assess the mean performance of hybrid and parent cultivars and their response towards holding solutions. Hybrid cultivars were found to perform better than their parents for the characters under study. Among all the cultivars tested, Punjab Glance statistically at par with Punjab Glad 1 and Punjab Lemon Delight took minimum days to opening of basal floret (1.89 days). Punjab Glad 1 recorded maximum vase life (6.40 days), absorption spike-1 (75.80 ml) and per cent opening of florets.

Investigations were carried out to draw out information in 30 progenies of Ailanthus excelsa Roxb. genetic resources to elicit information on the Variability, Heritability and Genetic advance among the biometric and physiological attributes. The number of branches registered maximum PCV and GCV followed by volume index, plant height and basal diameter and chlorophyll ‘a’, chlorophyll ‘b’, chlorophyll a/b ratio and total chlorophyll content had recorded low phenotypic coefficient of variation and genotypic coefficient of variation.

The present investigation was conducted to optimize an efficient callus induction protocol in Carica papaya (cv. Pusa Nanha). Two different types of explants were collected from field grown papaya plants under study viz., leaf and petiole. The explants were surface sterilized and excised into 1-2 cm diameter and inoculated on basal MS medium supplemented with various concentrations of NAA, Kinetin and TDZ. The cultures were kept in dark inside the culture room at 25 ± 2°C and humidity 60-65%.

A field experiment was conducted at Department of Vegetable Science, CoH, GKVK Campus, Bengaluru during Rabi Season of 2018-19 to study the effect of fertigation levels on growth and yield of Cabbage. The experiment was laid out in RCBD with seven treatments replicated thrice. The treatments included three different doses fertilizers (100, 75 and 50% RDF) and each doses of fertilizers was applied in 12 and 6 equal splits at 5 and 10 days intervals, respectively and they were compared with soil application of 100% RDF (150: 100: 125 kg NPK ha-1 ).

Cultivated species of jute (Corchorus olitorius L. and Corchorus capsularis L.) are distinct in their growth and characteristics related to dry matter and fibre yield. The present study was planned to evaluate 77 varieties of jute including two checks, each of C. capsularis and C. olitorius. Characterizations of genotypes of both the species were also carried out on the basis of five marketable traits with their correlation and cluster analysis of them to study the diversity pattern, based on these characters.
