Pustular psoriasis is a rare, immune-mediated systematic skin disorder characterized by yellowish pustules on an erythematous base with multiform clinical presentations and distribution patterns. In this article, we report a case of a male patient having skin lesions very similar to tinea incognito, however definitely diagnosed with pustular psoriasis.

Primary breast diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (PB-DLBCL) is a rare localized extranodal lymphoma. It is mainly diagnosed by pathological examination due to the lack of specific clinical and imaging manifestations. The patient subsequently received comprehensive treatment based on six cycles of rituximab-cyclophosphamide, hydroxydaunomycin, oncovin, prednisone (R-CHOP) chemotherapy.

Pneumocystis jirovecii (P. jirovecii) is an opportunistic fungal pathogen and the role of its colonization in pulmonary diseases has become a popular focus in recent years. The aim of this study was to develop a modified loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) assay for detection of Pneumocystis jirovecii (P. jirovecii) DNA amongst non-HIV patients with various pulmonary diseases and use it to examine the prevalence and assess the association of P. jirovecii colonization with clinical characteristics of these diseases.

The present investigation was carried out to study the prevalence of bacterial pathogens responsible for subclinical mastitis in buffaloes in and around Pantnagar in the state of Uttarakhand, India and the antibiogram pattern of the bacterial isolates to selected antibiotics. A total of 109 buffaloes were screened for SCM based on physical examination of udder, California mastitis test (CMT), Somatic cell count (SCC) and Differential cell count (DCC) on quarter’s milk samples. In order to assess the prevalence of parasitic diseases in animals in Northern Kerala, a retrospective study based on the data available from the register maintained for recording the results of microscopical examination of clinical samples submitted to the Department of Veterinary Parasitology, College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Pookode, Wayanad was conducted during a period from 2005 to 2015 (11 years). The results of the present study on the prevalence of parasitic diseases in Northern Kerala will be helpful for veterinarians and farmers for adopting effective control measures.

A six year old cow with growth on the left horn, with foul smell and bleeding was presented to clinics. On clinical examination the horn growth is characterised by granulation tissue at the base of the horn with offensive odour and was spongy, greyish white cauliflower like having rough and verrucous surface and was diagnosed as horn cancer. The horn tumor was removed surgically from the base and the animal was recovered uneventfully. The histopathology of the tumour revealed the squamous cell carcinoma.

This article summarizes the rare outbreak of Fowl Cholera in waterfowls (geese) in an area around the Dal Lake of Kashmir in winter month. There were reports of sudden deaths in waterfowls and utmost importance was to detect the causative agent to prevent further mortality. Avian cholera, highly contagious disease of poultry was diagnosed based on history and clinical examination. Pasteurella was isolated and affected birds were successfully treated with antibiotics based of in-vitro anti-microbial sensitivity test.

A cross bred jersey bull aged two and half years with the history of postservice bleeding from penis was presented to Large Animal Gynaecology Unit, Madras Veterinary College Teaching Hospital. Physical examination of prepuce and glans penis revealed inflammatory changes and pain whereas, testicles revealed uniform soft consistency with wrinkled scrotal skin and both the epididymis was normal.

A six year old crossbred HF cow was presented to the Veterinary Clinical Complex, the history of no faecal output from the last 4 days along with anorexia. Animal was full term pregnant. Palpation of the rumen from left paralumbar fossa and per rectal revealed severely impacted rumen. Pervaginal examination revealed post-cervical right sided uterine torsion of approximately ≥180 degree. Based on the findings of clinical examination, the diagnosis of ruminal impaction and post-cervical right side uterine torsion was confirmed.
