Groundnut (Arachis hypogaea L.) is a cultivated annually belonging to the plant family Leguminosae and sub family Papillionaceae. In groundnut several soil borne disease is occurred. Among them dry root rot is major which caused by Macrophomina phaseolina (Tassi) Goid has been having worldwide importance devastating disease causes severe losses in yield. Invitro, the effectively colony growth of fungus M. phaseolina was inhibited through different bioagent.

An experiment was conducted at two locations at Navsari and Waghai for studying the efficacy of bioagents for management of sorghum grain mold. Six different treatments were studied among which four biological control agents along with control (water spray) and absolute control (no spray) were sprayed three times each at interval of 15 days from the date of commencement of flowering.

The study revealed that all the biological agents were found to have potential to increase significant plant growth in terms of number of leaves and plant biomass. The maximum number of leaves per plant was recorded in P. chlamydosporia treated plants which was significantly different from untreated control followed by AM fungi and P. lilacinus. The maximum plant biomass (46%) was recorded in P. chlamydosporia and it was on par with AM fungi.

Brinjal or eggplant is the fourth most important vegetable crop in India in terms of production; India being its second highest producing country with 23.7% of world’s total share. Collar rot disease is proving to be a constraint for brinjal production with yield losses upto 30%. The pathogen Sclerotium rolfsii is able to attack all stages of the crop and is difficult to manage. A study was undertaken to investigate the efficacy of botanicals and bioagents in the management of the disease.

Wilt caused by Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. ricini poses a major problem in all the castor growing areas of the country. Since the soil borne disease can be effectively controlled by biocontrol agents, the present study was conducted to know the antagonistic activity of different bioagents in vitro at department of Plant Pathology, College of Agriculture, UAS, GKVK, Bengaluru during 2019-20.

Fusarium wilt is a soil-borne disease, which negatively affects the lentil crop widespread in India and affecting the lentil crop productivity. So the present study was conducted to evaluate the efficacy of bioagents against wilt pathogen Fusarium oxysporum f.sp.lentis of lentil crop through antagonistic activity. Rhizospheric strains were isolated from wilt affected lentil plant in different regions of Eastern UP like Faizabad, Mau, Varanasi, Ghazipur. A total of 20 bacterial strains were isolated and tested for antagonistic activity by co-culture m

In this study, the mycoflora present in the rhizosphere of four crops viz. rice, Sorghum, pigeonpea and urdbean were identified under controlled environmental conditions with the aim to know the host-specificity of mycoflora and to enrich the specific groups of bioagents. These potential microbes will be helpful in finding out good alternative to sustain the crop yield without having chemical residues in food.

The yield losses in the range of 48-80 per cent due to early blight (Alternaria solani) damage in tomato were reported from India, Canada, USA and Nigeria (Basu, 1974; Datar and Mayee, 1984; Mathur and Shekhawat, 1986; Sherf and MacNab, 1986; Gwary and Nahunnarao, 1998 and Pandey and Pandey, 2002). The annual economic yield losses due to early blight have been estimated at 79% (Adhikari and Panthee, 2017).
