  • In vitro evaluation of three contact and five systemic and two combination was carried out under laboratory condition in 2018-19 at Department of Plant Pathology, College of Horticulture, Mysuru by using Potato Dextrose Agar medium (PDA) as basal medium and six biocontrol agents were evaluated through dual culture technique.   • A total of fifteen fungicides and four bioagents were tested for their efficacy under in vitro conditions against Alternaria cucumerina. Among fungicides tested, propiconazole gave maximum inhibition (100.00 %) of radial mycelial growth followed by hexaconazole, captan+ hexaconozole and tebuconozole + trifloxystrobin by recording mean per cent inhibition of 98.74, 95.42 and 94.78 per cent respectively.

  • Early Blight of potato is caused by Alternaria solani (Ell. and Mart.) Jones and Grout is one of the most serious diseases of potato. Several management practices have been adopted so far to minimize the disease. But in present investigation based on laboratory and glass house condition revealed that soil application with Farm Yard Manure (FYM) and tuber seed dressing with bio-formulation provided higher germination, excellent growth as well as protection against early blight.
