A carboxymethylcellulose (CMC)-degrading bacterium was isolated from soil, identified as Bacillus methylotrophicus according to the physiological properties and analyses of 16S rRNA and a partial sequence of the gyrase A (gyrA) gene, and named as B. methylotrophicus Y37. The CMCase enzyme was purified to homogeneity by 20.4-fold with 21.73% recovery using single-step hydrophobic interaction chromatography and biochemically characterized. CMCase showed a molecular weight of approximately 50 kDa as determined by SDS-PAGE.

The purified L-asparaginase is monomeric with a molecular mass of 57 kDa and exhibited optimum activity at pH 7.5 and 37 °C, which is relatively close to the human body's internal environment. The purified Lasparaginase showed high affinity and catalytic efficiency towards its natural substrate L-asparagine with Km and Vmax of 1.2 mM and 71.3 U/mL, respectively, and did not exhibit any intrinsic glutaminase activity

In this review, important parameters used in evaluation of plant resistance ability against salinity stress are discussed, which highlights the necessity to obtain multi-sets of biological data ranging from analyses of morphological alterations to physiological, biochemical and molecular responses, as well as by performing -omics studies to find out network of salinity-responsive pathways. Literature review also demonstrates that the relevance of salinity condition setup in terms of concentration and duration is required in experimental design.

Euryale ferox Salisb., an annual aquatic plant, is the only species in the genus Euryale in the Nymphaeaceae. Seeds of E. ferox are a nutritious food and also used in traditional Chinese medicine (Qian Shi in Mandarin). The molecular events that occurred during seed development in E. ferox have not yet been characterized. In this study, we performed transcriptomic analysis of four developmental stages (T1, T2, T3, and T4) in E. ferox seeds with three biological replicates per developmental stage to understand the physiological and biochemical processes during E. ferox seeds development.

Molecular interactions between proteins and DNA molecules underlie many cellular processes, including transcriptional regulation, chromosome replication, and nucleosome positioning. Computational analyses of protein-DNA interactions rely on experimental data characterizing known protein-DNA interactions structurally and biochemically.

Molecular characterization of the Salmonella spp isolated from small ruminants in and around Bidar. A total of 140 fecal samples collected were from sheep and goats. Based on the morphological, cultural and biochemical characterization indicated that 8 isolates were Salomnella spp. Biochemically confirmed isolates were subjected to invA gene based PCR and diagnostic amplicon specific to virulence gene of 284 bp was evident in all the 8 Salmonella isolates indicating potential carriage of invasion properties linked to virulence.

Forty fish procured from retail shops located in and around from west Chennai were examined for the presence of Listeria monocytogenes. The cultural, biochemical, molecular and phylogenetic relationship characterization of isolates was performed to detect genetic variations among L. monocytogenes isolates. The selective enrichment procedure followed by selective isolation was used for Listeria isolation from fish intestines. Twenty (50%) L. monocytogenes were isolated and identified from fish intestines. Two different varieties were analyzed by the BLAST sequencing analysis of the isolates.

The present study was carried out for the isolation, identification and molecular characterization of Brucella species. A total of 50 samples were collected from cattle and buffalo suffering from abortions and other reproductive disorders in and around Ludhiana, Punjab. Out of the 50 samples of fetal stomach contents (25), uterine discharges (10), vaginal mucus (8) and placenta (7) processed for isolation of Brucella of which a total of four isolate were obtained and identified biochemically. All the 4 isolates were typed as biotype 1.

Proanthocyanidins (PAs) accumulate in the seeds, fruits and leaves of various plant species including the seed coats of pea (Pisum sativum), an important food crop. PAs have been implicated in human health, but molecular and biochemical characterization of pea PA biosynthesis has not been established to date, and detailed pea PA chemical composition has not been extensively studied.

Cork oak (Quercus suber L.) has a natural distribution across western Mediterranean regions and is a keystone forest tree species in these ecosystems. The fruiting phase is especially critical for its regeneration but the molecular mechanisms underlying the biochemical and physiological changes during cork oak acorn development are poorly understood.

Traditional fermented fish products are known for their rich probiotic values. In the present study, an effort was made to isolate and characterize the indigenous predominant LAB strain from commercially important four fermented fish products (Shidal, Lonailish, Ngari and Hentak) consumed in north-eastern regions of India, and further characterized their probiotic properties. A total 10 isolates were identified as Staphylococcus piscifermentans on the basis of biochemical and molecular characterization.

Molecular and biochemical characterization of a novel isoprene synthase from Metrosideros polymorpha
Isoprene is a five-carbon chemical that is an important starting material for the synthesis of rubber, elastomers, and medicines. Although many plants produce huge amounts of isoprene, it is very difficult to obtain isoprene directly from plants because of its high volatility and increasing environmental regulations.

Globally, Sunflower (Helianthus annuus L.) is one of the most important cultivated oilseed crops. High oleic sunflower oil maintains oil stability also offers a trans-free oil solution for customers. They help in diminishing the cholesterol leading to a reduction in heart diseases. High oleic acid content genotypes have been developed whose oil has higher oxidative stability and better dietary properties than standard genotypes.
