Yellow-feathered chickens (YFCs) have a long history in China. They are well-known for the nutritional and commercial importance attributable to their yellow color phenotype. Currently, there is a huge paucity in knowledge of the genetic determinants responsible for phenotypic and biochemical properties of these iconic chickens.

The present investigation was carried out during the year 2019-2020 at four study sites. The ornamental plant i.e. OP-16 among plants, S1 among sites and OP-16 X S1 among interactions exhibited maximum total chlorophyll content. Relative Water Content (RWC) recorded was highest in OP-18 (91.68) among plants, S3 (81.20) among sites.

The aim of the present study was to access probiotic attributes such as antimicrobial activity, acid and bile tolerance, auto aggregation capacity, hydrophobicity assay and antibiotic susceptibility of two screened potential lactic acid bacterial strains from a novel traditional fermented product (viz. Luske, prepared using fermented lassi) Solan District of Himachal Pradesh. Six isolates were isolated from the traditional fermented foods of a Trans Himalayan state of India and were subjected to biochemical characterization.

Genetic variation among populations of cultivated garlic is precious for an economic use of genes and genomes. The collection of cultivated garlic germplasms and its genetic evaluation will identify accessions that could be useful to obtain cultivars using clonal selection to be used in breeding programmes.

The physiological and hemato-biochemical changes were recorded at 15, 30, and 60 minutes after immobilization with XZT (group A) and DexMZT (group B) in six sloth bears of each group. Significant physiological difference in heart rate between the groups at 30 minutes was observed which could be due to α 2 agonist mediated biphasic cardiovascular response causing bradycardia. Significant decrease in hemoglobin concentration at 30 minutes in group B could be attributed to α 2 agonist influencing shifting of fluids from extracellular to intracellular compartments.

The study was conducted to examine the effect of high temperature on seed quality attributes viz., physical, physiological and biochemical in wheat. Twelve diverse genotype’s seed obtained from normal and high temperature growing conditions were tested for quality. High parent plant growth temperature during seed development and maturation resulted in poor seed quality.

The present study focused on the influence of low pH on growth, specific biochemical parameters and antioxidants amongst Nostoc strains grown under control (pH 7.0) and low pH (pH 4.5) medium. Cell dry weight, chlorophyll content, total soluble proteins and extracellular ammonia release reduced due to low pH stress of growing media compared to control grown cultures. Nitrogenase activity was reduced in two and increased in remaining strains due to low pH.

A Total 8 semen sample from four healthy Gir breeding bulls were collected at weekly interval for two weeks period using of artificial vagina method for evaluation of semen biochemical attributes at various stages of cryopreservation of Gir bull semen. The overall mean values for oxidative stress parameters viz. lipid peroxidation and glutathione reductase were 51.14 ± 0.18 μmol/ml and 32.24 ± 0.64 U/L, respectively in neat semen samples.

Downy mildew, caused by Sclerospora graminicola (Sacc.) Schroet, is a disease of great economic significance in the production of pearl millet (Pennisetum glaucum). Host physiology particularly host metabolites and oxidising enzymes get disturbed due to attack of Sclerospora graminicola. Altered state of oxidative enzyme plays an important role in plant metabolism during pathogenesis. In the present investigation biochemical characterization of pearl millet genotypes - HHB 223 and 7042 S was carried out at 30, 40, 50 and 70 DAS.

Salinity Stress is one of the most important abiotic stresses that cause adverse effects on crop productivity and agricultural sustainability. The present experiment was carried out as a pot-culture in the poly-house on pea genotype HUP-2 under salinity stress, and identified various biochemical attributes which were progressively reduced with increase in salinity level due to formation of reactive oxygen species i.e. hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) and superoxide radical (O2 .- ).

Minced meat fish Lizard fish (Saurida tumbil) was subjected to steam cooking and acid hydrolysis process and dried up to moisture content of 6- 7%. Fish powder obtained from both methods were incorporated in to a cereal mix containing malted and roasted wheat and ragi powder at different percentage (10%, 15%, 20% and 25%) separately. Prepared health mix were stored at ambient temperature and its storage characteristics such as biochemical composition, nutritional, functional, microbiological parameters and organoleptical attributes were analyzed up to 90 days.

A total of six German shepherd dogs were selected for Breeding Soundness Examination (BSE). Body condition score was evaluated on a scale of 1-9 and Testicular volume was measured by Vernier Caliper before semen collection. The method of semen collection was by digital manipulation. The biophysical and biochemical attributes of semen for GSD dogs was characterized. In GSD dogs, the testes were firm in texture and no other scrotal abnormality was noticed.

The objective of the current experiment was to investigate the various semen characteristics of two indigenous breeds of chicken namely Nicobari and Ankleshwar, as such data were not yet reported. Freshly ejaculated semen samples were collected from twenty breeder roosters of each breed and subjected to physical and biochemical analysis. Immediately after collection, the semen volume of individual birds was recorded using tuberculin syringe and further analysed for seminal motility, concentration and percentage of live, dead and abnormal spermatozoa using standard procedures.
