Sarcopenia is described as age-related progressive skeletal muscle failure that results in marked reduction in the patient’s independence and life quality. In this study, we explored the association of TP53 exon 4 Arg72pro (rs1042522) and Intron 3 16-bp Del/Ins (rs17878362) polymorphisms and their haplotypes with sarcopenia, anthropo‑ metric, body composition and biochemical parameters.

Free faecal liquid (FFL) is a condition in horses characterised by two-phase (one solid and one liquid) separation of faeces. Causes of the condition are unknown, but disturbed hindgut fermentation has been suggested as it may alter biochemical composition and appearance of faeces in equines.

The present study evaluated the effect of different colored plastic mulching viz. olive polythene film (OPF), silver polythene film (SPF), white polythene film (WPF), black polythene film (BPF) and blue polythene film (BLPF) on soil properties, growth, physiology, biochemical and mineral nutrient composition in onion bulbs. Soil properties at 0–10 cm depth are variably affected by colored polythene film mulches.

The strains are resistant to high hexachlorobenzene concentrations. According to morphological, cultural and biochemical properties, the studied strains are related to typical members of the Comamonadaceae family, they are motile gram-negative rods, aerobic, chemoorganotrophic. Saturated and unsaturated fatty acids with a carbon chain length from C10 to C18 were found in composition of cellular lipids.

The development of products that fully meet the criteria for a healthy diet is one of the main trends in nutrition quality improvement worldwide. Amaranth, a leader in protein quality, has significant potential. A comparative study of the protein complex in leaf biomass has been conducted for the first time for Amaranthus spp. grown for various uses. The aim of the study was to analyze the characteristics of the amino acid composition and identify the relationships among its components in the amaranth leaf biomass.

Garcinia species are widely used for their slimming effects via increased fat burning and suppression of satiety. However, scientific evidence for the biological effects of Garcinia atroviridis (GA) is lacking. We investigated the phytochemical composition, safety profiles, and antioxidant and antiobesity effects of methanolic extracts of Garcinia atroviridis (MeGa) in obese female rats. Repeated dose toxicity studies were conducted according to the OECD guidelines.

Liza parsia fry were reared at three different densities in the cages (1 x 1 x 0.5 m-3 ). The experiment was conducted to evaluate the effect of stocking density on growth, survival and biochemical composition during nursery rearing phase. Fry (mean length, 1.3 cm and mean weight, 0.08 g) were stocked at the rate of 50, 100 and 200 nos. m-3 for 30 days.
