  • Ribosomal RNA processing protein 15 (RRP15) has been found to regulate the progression of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Nevertheless, the extent to which it contributes to the spread of HCC cells remains uncertain. Thus, the objective of this research was to assess the biological function of RRP15 in the migration of HCC.

  • Burn wounds are frequently encountered health problems, which need a new treatment approach especially in terms of good patient compliance. Availability of use of antioxidant agents and bio-adhesive gels in tissue healing can be an alternative as a new approach for wound healing. Antioxidant taurine containing bio-adhesive gels were prepared by using carbopol (CP) 940 and 934.

  • Levodopa (biological precursor of dopamine) is sometimes used instead of dopamine for synthesis of highly adhesive polycatecholamine coatings on different materials. However, in comparison of polydopamine, little is known about biological safety of poly(levodopa) coatings and their efficacy in binding of therapeutically active substances.

  • Cadherin-23 (CDH23) plays an important role in intercellular adhesion and is involved in the progression of several types of cancer. However, the biological functions and effect of CDH23 expression on the prognosis of patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) are unexplored. Herein, we aim to characterize the role and molecular functions of CDH23 in AML.

  • Extracellular interactions between cell surface receptors are necessary for signaling and adhesion but identifying them remains technically challenging. We describe a cell-based genome-wide approach employing CRISPR activation to identify receptors for a defined ligand. We show receptors for high-affinity antibodies and low-affinity ligands can be unambiguously identified when used in pools or as individual binding probes.

  • The evolution of multicellularity is a critical event that remains incompletely understood. We use the social amoeba, Dictyostelium discoideum, one of the rare organisms that readily transits back and forth between both unicellular and multicellular stages, to examine the role of epigenetics in regulating multicellularity.

  • The biocomposite demonstrated upgraded swelling and antibacterial activity. The addition of ZnHAP accomplished the antibacterial activity. Biocompatibility studies were carried out using osteoblast cells and thus we proved the non-toxic nature of the biocomposite. Osteoblast cell adhesion investigations demonstrated that the cells were appended and infiltrated into the inside of the biocomposite.

  • In this study, specific biosensors were used to detect PtdIns(4,5)P2, PtdIns(3,4,5)P3, and FAs proteins conjugated to RFP/GFP in order to monitor changes of PtdIns(4,5)P2 and PtdIns(3,4,5)P3 levels within FAs. We demonstrated that the localisation of PtdIns(4,5)P2 and PtdIns(3,4,5)P3 were moderately correlated with that of FA proteins. Furthermore, we demonstrate that local levels of PtdIns(4,5) P2 increased within FA assembly and declined within FA disassembly. However, PtdIns(3,4,5)P3 levels remained constant within FAs assembly and disassembly.
