In the paper "Building and mining graph databases from biomedical heterogeneous networks", in order to explore the underlying knowledge in heterogeneous network data, we propose an approach to the Neo4J graph database and some graph algorithms such as PageRank, Community detection, and Similarity algorithm. Performing experiments on some heterogeneous data, we have obtained significant results, we can see that the proposed method improves efficiency, increases accuracy, and reduces execution time compared to traditional way of storing data.

This paper presents a proposed low power, low noise capacitively-coupled chopper instrumentation amplifier (CCIA) using body control DC servo loop and low input capacitance applied for biomedical recording. A DC servo loop using body control (DSL-BC) is proposed to reduce the electrode offset and its noise contribution.

Graphene Quantum Dots (GQDs) are a type of material with a width of several nanometers (nm) and a thickness of a single layer or a few layers of carbon (C) atoms organized in hexagonal shape like a beehive. Since the lattice structure of GQDs only includes carbon atoms, they are a nanomaterial that is friendly to the environment and humans. They have many applications, with one of the main uses being a novel antimicrobial agent.

This paper presents a data classification problem and methods to improve imbalanced data classification. Especially, biomedical data has a very high imbalance rate and the sample identification of minority class is a very important. Many studies have shown that border elements are important in imbalanced data classification such as Borderline-SMOTE, Random Under Border Sampling.

Semantic approaches such as concept-based information retrieval rely on a corpus in which resources are indexed by concepts belonging to a domain ontology. In order to keep such applications up-to-date, new entities need to be frequently annotated to enrich the corpus.

In this paper, we evaluate the impact of different text representations of biomedical texts as features for reproducing the MeSH annotations of some of the most frequent MeSH headings. In addition to unigrams and bigrams, these features include noun phrases, citation meta-data, citation structure, and semantic annotation of the citations.

This paper describes a general approach to information extraction using curated data as training examples. The idea is to formulate the problem as cost-sensitive learning from noisy labels, where the cost is estimated by a committee of weak classifiers that consider both curated data and the text.

Finding highly relevant articles from biomedical databases is challenging not only because it is often difficult to accurately express a user’s underlying intention through keywords but also because a keyword-based query normally returns a long list of hits with many citations being unwanted by the user. This paper proposes a novel biomedical literature search system, called BiomedSearch, which supports complex queries and relevance feedback.

This paper has presented LOD-ABOG framework which shows that current LOD sources and technologies are a promising solution to automate the process of biomedical ontology generation and extract relations to a greater extent. In addition, unlike existing frameworks which require domain experts in ontology development process, the proposed approach requires involvement of them only for improvement purpose at the end of ontology life cycle.
