In Uzbekistan, Izzatullaev IZ and Boymuradov HT conducted researches on the inventory of bivalve mollusks in water bodies, to determine the distribution and characteristics of them in reservoirs, to study the current state of populations of rare and endemic species.

There are 9 species and 1 subspecies in the reservoirs of the Kashkadarya coast in Karabakh and 6 species and 1 subspecies in Kamashi. In the Kamashi reservoir, peloreophiles make up 57%, rheophiles 14% and crenophiles 29%. In the Karabakh reservoir, peloreophiles were found to be 70%, rheophiles 10%, pelolimnophiles 10% and crenophiles 10%.

In the populations of the aquifer of the Kattakurgan reservoir 6 species and 2 subspecies are spread, 9 species and 1 subspecies are distributed in the populations on the banks of the reservoir. There are 6 species and 1 subspecies in the populations of the aquifer of the Shurkul reservoir. 7 species and 1 subspecies live in the populations on the banks of the reservoir. There are 2 species of bivalve molluscs in rocky biotopes, 5 in sandy soils, and 8 in mud.
