  • The study was carried out to evaluate the efficacy of fungicides and bio-agents against the leaf and neck blast disease in paddy during Kharif season of 2013-14. Among the evaluated fungicides and bio-agents, Tricyclazole 75% WP was effectively manage the incidence of leaf and neck blast (16.3 and 21.22 %, respectively) and found most economical fungicide among all treatments with highest yield (35.61q/ha) and B: C ratio (1: 2.03), maximum reduction of leaf and neck blast (66.61 and 43.15 %, respectively) followed by Tebuconazole 25.

  • A field experiment was conducted at Agricultural College Farm, Bapatla to test the efficacy of some recommended insecticides and fungicides as a tank mix application. Two insecticidal treatments (chlorantraniliprole @ 0.3 ml l-1 and chlorpyriphos @ 2.5 ml l-1 ) and two fungicidal treatments (tricyclazole @ 0.6 g l-1 and isoprothiolane @ 1.5 ml l-1 ) with an untreated control were replicated thrice in a simple randomized block design. The results showed that all the insecticide and fungicide treatments alone and in combination were found superior over untreated check.

Among nine treatments, Azoxystrobin 18.2 % w/w +Difenoconazole 11.4% w/w SC @ 1.0 g/L and Trifloxystrobin 25% + Tebuconazole 50% WG @ 0.4 g/L were on par with each other with least pooled leaf blast disease index of 20.03% and 20.90% and neck blast disease incidence of 16.48% and 16.93% respectively followed by Tricyclazole 75% WP @ 0.6 g/L.
