In this study, we focus on investigating the effect of temperature on the energy absorption capacity and mechanical properties of GBNHs via molecular dynamics (MD). The obtained results show that the energy absorption capacity of GBNHs sharply increases with the decrease in temperature.

In this work, the kinetic electrochemical degradation of Cartap (CT) (in Padan 95 SP) at boron-doped diamond (BDD) electrode was investigated. This study indicated that the degradation of CT underwent both direct and indirect oxidations. Water matrices can either accelerate or inhibit the removal efficiency of CT: adding 15 mM Cl- improved kCT from 0.039 min–1 to 0.054 min–1 (increased by 38%), while kCT decreased by 61.5% and 64% when increasing the concentration of HCO3 - and humic acid (HA) to 15 mM and 15 mg L–1, respectively.

High temperature stress at reproductive stages of cotton crop severely affects the yield and quality of cotton crop under changing climatic conditions. To alleviate the adverse effects of high temperature stress on cotton crop, the regulatory effects of potassium (K), zinc (Zn), and boron (B) were assessed by applying different temperature regimes at three reproductive stages of cotton crop under field and glass house conditions.

This paper aimed to determine the grey water footprint (GWF) of geothermal water resources and to investigate the effect of biochar adsorption on grey water footprint in Southeastern Turkey. In this paper, GWF has been calculated in terms of iron (Fe), arsenic (As), manganese (Mn), boron (B), and chrome (Cr) concentrations for fifteen observation geothermal resources located in Southeastern Anatolia Region. In this study, a new approach based on the GWF was developed in order to determine the geothermal water pollution.

The HOMO–LUMO gap of the nanocage does not change significantly upon urea adsorption, while the Fermi level is dramatically changed from −4.27 eV in the pristine nanocage to upper energies upon urea adsorption. The geometric structure, adsorption energy, solvation effect, charge transfer, and frequency analyses of the urea adsorption on the nanocage models showed that the urea molecule could be firmly adsorbed by the nanocage and the nanocage could be a potential efficient adsorbent for the adsorption of urea.

The speciation and preconcentration of selenium were carried out by solid phase extraction using nanozirconium oxide/boron oxide (ZrO2/B2O3). Electrothermal atomic absorption spectrometry (ETAAS) was used for detection. This preconcentration and/or speciation method depends on the retention of Se(IV) ions selectively as its ammonium pyrrolidine dithiocarbamate (APDC) complex on the sorbent. The effects of pH, flow rate, and volume of sample solution and eluent type were investigated for determining the optimum preconcentration and speciation conditions.

Ferulic acid (FA; 3-methoxy-4-hydroxycinnamic acid) can eliminate stress-induced damage because of its ability to induce antioxidant activity under stress. The aim of this study was to identify the effects of FA on water status, antioxidant system, and lipid peroxidation in wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) roots exposed to boron (B) stress. Plants were grown in hydroponic culture containing the combination or alone form of 25–75 μM FA and 4–8 mM B. Stress significantly decreased growth (RGR), water content (RWC), proline content (Pro), and osmotic potential (YP).

This study was carried out to investigate the ameliorative effects of salt pretreatment against B toxicity in two sunflower cultivars (Helianthus annuus L. ‘Sanbro’ and ‘Tarsan-1018’) differing in salt tolerance. Seedlings were grown in perlite with modified half-strength Hoagland’s solution for 15 days and then they were divided into two groups: salt-pretreated (75 mM NaCl for 5 days) and B-treated (control, 2, 4, and 8 mM B for 10 days). In both cultivars, the biomass of root and shoot decreased depending on B accumulation, especially at 8 mM.

Boron oxide (B2 O3 ) is derived from dehydration of boric acid and is a colorless, semitransparent, crystalline compound that is moderately soluble in water. On the other hand, boron oxide is chemically hygroscopic. This gives the molecule the ability to soak up water and adhere to tissues. Boron oxide can be used locally after tumor debulking in inoperable tumors and especially when the tumor-free margin distance cannot be provided.

: Boron is a naturally occurring trace element found in organic and inorganic complexes. Boron-containing compounds are required for living organisms for diverse metabolic functions, including nitrogen fixation in microorganisms, cell wall stability in plants, and bone and carbohydrate metabolism in animals. The number of studies about the effect of boron in biological model systems is very limited; so far, there has been no study on the correlation between boron and amyloid-beta toxicity.

Pulses are an important source of high quality protein complementing cereal proteins for pre-dominantly substantial vegetarian population of the country. Pigeonpea (Cajanus cajan (L.) Mill sp.) is the second most important pulse crop of India after chickpea and is grown for it’s grain as dhal and green seed as a vegetable. A field experiment was conducted at College of Agriculture, Vishweshwaraiah Canal Farm, Mandya during kharif 2017 to study the effect of foliar application of calcium nitrate, boron and humic acid on growth and yield of transplanted pigeonpea.

Four concentrations of GA3 and Boron viz. 0, 50, 75 and 100 ppm GA3 and 0, 0.10, 0.25 and 0.50% boron along with their combinations were tried in a Factorial Completely Randomized Design replicated thrice to find out their role on the flowering, fruiting and yield of strawberry. The results revealed that the application of 75 ppm of GA3 and 0.

Deficiency of micronutrients during the last three decades has grown in both, magnitude and extent. This has become a major constraint to production and productivity of vegetables in general and onion in particular. Bhonde et al., (1995) evaluated the effect of zinc, copper and boron on onion crop. Bulb size and yield as well as quality of bulb enhanced when micronutrients were applied in combinations instead of their single application.micronutrients, Zinc and Boron, Quality of Onion

Boron is concerned with the precipitation of excess cation, buffer action, maintenance of conducting tissues and help in absorption of nitrogen. Its primary role is concerned with metabolism both with its uptake and efficient use in plants. Boron also affect the cambial and phloem tissues of storage root or stem apical meristems and leaves, vascular cambia of fruits and other organs which are capable of meristematic activities (Singh, 1991).

This behaviour may the related to restricted release of boron from organic complexes which ultimately impaired ability of plants to extract B from soil due to lack of moisture in the rhi7osphere. Even of B levels in soil is high, then also low soil moisture impairs transport of B to absorbing root surfaces (Das et al., 2016).
