As such, the study apparently sought to examine the adsorption of the proteinogenic amino acid (proline) on the bare surfaces of carbon boron nitride, boron nitride, and boron nitride doped with the aluminum element nanotubes. In accordant with the geometric optimization, different dispersion models: PBE0, ωB97XD, M06-2X, and B3LYP-D3(GD3BJ) were used; note that the latter is used only in wave function analysis studies.

In this work, the kinetic electrochemical degradation of Cartap (CT) (in Padan 95 SP) at boron-doped diamond (BDD) electrode was investigated. This study indicated that the degradation of CT underwent both direct and indirect oxidations. Water matrices can either accelerate or inhibit the removal efficiency of CT: adding 15 mM Cl- improved kCT from 0.039 min–1 to 0.054 min–1 (increased by 38%), while kCT decreased by 61.5% and 64% when increasing the concentration of HCO3 - and humic acid (HA) to 15 mM and 15 mg L–1, respectively.

Two N -heterocyclic carbene (NHC) palladium complexes of formula [PdBr2(NHC)(pyridine)] in which the carbenic ring is flanked by sterically crowded cavitand substituents were prepared from appropriate imidazolium salts bearing either two resorcinarene or a combination of resorcinarene and calixarene fragments. Both complexes displayed high stability and good activities in the cross-coupling of aryl bromides with phenyl boronic acid. One of the imidazolium salts was characterised by an X-ray diffraction study.

A green and efficient protocol has been developed for the Pd(OAc)2-catalyzed ligand-free Suzuki–Miyaura reaction of N-methyliminodiacetic acid (MIDA) boronates in water. In the presence of Pd(OAc)2 as a catalyst and (i-Pr)2NH as a base, the cross-coupling reactions of aryl bromides with aryl MIDA boronates proceeded smoothly in water without any surfactant, and various functional groups were tolerated under the optimized conditions.

Boron methacrylate (BAc) monomer was synthesized via an esterification reaction. Boric acid, neopentyl glycol, and 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate (HEMA) were reacted to obtain boron-containing acrylic monomer. Characterization was achieved by FT-IR, 13 C NMR, 1 H NMR, and 11 B NMR and the results for the synthesized monomer were compared to those for HEMA. Homopolymer and copolymers with styrene (St) were synthesized via free radical polymerization. The properties of the synthesized styrene copolymers were investigated using several techniques.

In this work, boron-doped CQDs (B-CQDs) were synthesized by using boric acid, urea, and citric acid via hydrothermal method to use as a novel additive material for poly(3-hexylthiophene-2,5-diyl) (P3HT):[6,6]-phenyl-C61-butyric acid methyl ester (PCBM) based organic solar cells. The OSCs with an inverted device structure were fabricated on titanium dioxide (TiO2 ) thin film. It was showed the crystallinity, morphological and optical properties of P3HT:PCBM films improved after B-CQDs additive. The best performance was obtained to be a 39.65% of FF, a 546 mV of Voc, an 8.

The fine-tuned regulation of the Halliwell–Asada cycle (ascorbate–glutathione pathway) in Arabidopsis thaliana under boron (B) toxicity was shown in our previous report. In this study, we investigated the expression levels of some members of the glutathione S-transferase (GST) superfamily, such as phi (GSTF2, GSTF6, GSTF7, and GSTF8), tau (GSTU19), and zeta (GSTZ1) classes in Arabidopsis thaliana that were exposed to 1 mM boric acid (1B) and 3 mM boric acid (3B).

Ferulic acid (FA; 3-methoxy-4-hydroxycinnamic acid) can eliminate stress-induced damage because of its ability to induce antioxidant activity under stress. The aim of this study was to identify the effects of FA on water status, antioxidant system, and lipid peroxidation in wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) roots exposed to boron (B) stress. Plants were grown in hydroponic culture containing the combination or alone form of 25–75 μM FA and 4–8 mM B. Stress significantly decreased growth (RGR), water content (RWC), proline content (Pro), and osmotic potential (YP).

Recently, boron (B) has been found to form a complex with anthocyanin, which could be evidence for the B tolerance mechanisms that reduce free B in the leaf tissues of plants. However, the molecular mechanism of anthocyanin biosynthesis and transport has not been satisfactorily elucidated in plants exposed to toxic B. Therefore, the changes in expression levels of some of the phenylpropanoid pathway genes, early and late flavonoid biosynthetic genes, and transcription factors related to anthocyanin biosynthesis and transport were determined in Arabidopsis thaliana under B toxicity.

Three new photochromic compounds, 3-(2,5-dimethyl-3-thienyl)-4-(2-phenyl-5-methyl-4-thiazolyl)-1,8-naphthalimide (1-O), 2,3-bis(2-phenyl-5-methyl-4-thiazolyl)-7H -benzimidazo[2,1-a]benzo[de]isoquinolin-7-one (2-O), and 2,5- dimethyl-3-thienyl)-7H -benzimidazo[2,1-a]benzo[de]isoquinolin-7-one (3-O), were synthesized and their photochromic properties were studied. Compound 1-O was synthesized by two consecutive Suzuki coupling reactions using 2,5- dimethylthiophene-3-boronic acid and 5-methyl-2-phenylthiazole-4-boronic acid.

The purpose of this study was to compare the adsorption behavior of cationic and anionic dyes onto a hexagonal boron nitride (hBN) nanostructure that was rich in a negative charge. Herein, the hBN nanostructure was synthesized using boric acid as a precursor material. The characteristic peaks of the hBN nanostructure were performed using Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) and Raman spectroscopies. The morphology and the particle size of hBN nanostructure were determined by transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM).

Boron oxide (B2 O3 ) is derived from dehydration of boric acid and is a colorless, semitransparent, crystalline compound that is moderately soluble in water. On the other hand, boron oxide is chemically hygroscopic. This gives the molecule the ability to soak up water and adhere to tissues. Boron oxide can be used locally after tumor debulking in inoperable tumors and especially when the tumor-free margin distance cannot be provided.

: Boron is a naturally occurring trace element found in organic and inorganic complexes. Boron-containing compounds are required for living organisms for diverse metabolic functions, including nitrogen fixation in microorganisms, cell wall stability in plants, and bone and carbohydrate metabolism in animals. The number of studies about the effect of boron in biological model systems is very limited; so far, there has been no study on the correlation between boron and amyloid-beta toxicity.

Pulses are an important source of high quality protein complementing cereal proteins for pre-dominantly substantial vegetarian population of the country. Pigeonpea (Cajanus cajan (L.) Mill sp.) is the second most important pulse crop of India after chickpea and is grown for it’s grain as dhal and green seed as a vegetable. A field experiment was conducted at College of Agriculture, Vishweshwaraiah Canal Farm, Mandya during kharif 2017 to study the effect of foliar application of calcium nitrate, boron and humic acid on growth and yield of transplanted pigeonpea.

An adequate boron amendment ensures not only ample fruit set, but guarantees optimum fruit yield with excellent quality in terms of juice content, ratio between total soluble solids and acidity, and fruit peel colour (Srivastava and Singh 2005). Very little information is available on effect of zinc and boron under agro-climatic conditions of Uttarakhand and no work so far has been done under tarai conditions with the cultivar Pant Prabhat. Therefore, it has become imperative to find out influence of zinc and boron on leaf nutrient status of guava.
