The result has recorded 29 species of bamboo belonging to 15 genera. The Bambusoideae grow naturally in almost all regions, in an altitudinal range that extends from 200 m up to 2,160 m. Bamboo in the Central Highlands is distributed in three vegetation types: degraded natural forests in valleys and mountain gorges, along rivers (twenty-one species); primary forest, mixed with broadleaved trees (six species); and dry dipterocarp forest (two species).

Spatial association and species diversity of species-rich tropical forests can be characterized by their spatial patterns. We applied the quantitative analyses based on relationships of spatial distribution of tree species. In a 2-ha plot of a tropical broadleaved forest stand in Kon Ha Nung, Gia Lai province, all tree individuals with DBH ≥ 2.5 cm were mapped and their characteristics (i.e., DBH and species) were recorded.

In this study, our overall goal is to characterize spatial attributes of neighborhood trees by applying the current techniques of nearest neighbor statistics. For a better understanding of structural units, we three structural units for each species analyses, such as mingling - index, mingling - dominance and dominance uniform angle index.

The spatial structure of a community and the ecological mechanisms that control it are central themes in community ecology. This study aimed to investigate the ecological mechanisms driving the coexistence of tree species in the evergreen broadleaved forests in Con Dao National Park, Vietnam.

All species within a community either directly or indirectly interact with each other. Such interactions serve as the nucleus of both ecological and evolutionary processes. This study focused on dominant tree species' interspecific associations and the stability of evergreen broadleaved forest stands in Phu Quoc National Park in Kien Giang province of Vietnam.

Explaining the high diversity of tropical rain forest has been a challenge for ecologists for decades. We applied a recent technique of spatial statistics that is Individual species area relationship (ISAR) to study diversity structure of a tropical broadleaved forest based on individual species. The ISAR is combined by species area relationship and Ripley’s K to measure the expected diversity of individual specific species in circular neighborhoods with variable radius of moving window circles around an arbitrary individual of a focal species.
