The main of two-stage polymorphism was 67.6%, and the Polymorphism Information Content (PIC) ranged between 0 to 0.449 in the bud stage and from 0 to 0.338 from in the seedling stage. Estimation of genetic diversity and selection of prefered mutants would be considerable importance in enhancement breeding programs and to identify of genotypes with higher desirable traits for further multiplication and commercial production.

Selected essential oils namely clove bud oil, lemongrass oil, grapefruit oil, lemon oil and rosemary oils studied for their composition and antifungal activity against the B. cinerea a significant postharvest pathogen. The compositional analysis by FT-IR revealed the several characteristic peaks corresponding to the several aromatic compounds of essential oils. Major compounds were identified for each essential oil as eugenol in of clove bud oil, citralin lemongrass oil, β-myrcene in grapefruit oil, limonene in lemon oil and camphor in rosemary oil.

Pseudomonas aeruginosa is considered as the epitome of an opportunistic pathogens of hospitalized patients. A total of 159 clinical specimens were recovered and molecular identified by PCR assay. The number of isolates which identified as P. aeruginosa was 101 clinical isolates. Considering the effect of 14 natural products/extracts on some virulence factors of MDR isolates, sub inhibitory concentration (½ MIC) of Syzygium aromaticum (clove) buds extract inhibit the activity of alkaline protease enzyme on skimmed milk agar.

Alstroemeria hybrida is one of the important cut flower grown for domestic as well as for export market. Alstroemeria gaining popularity because of its free use in floral arrangement, beds, pots, season hedge etc. An experiment was conducted to evaluate the performance of eight cultivars of Alstroemeria under poly house conditions.

The association and path analysis between nine different growth and flowering characters towards yield per plant were studied in ten bachelor’s button (Gomphrena globosa L.) genotypes viz., AGS-1, AGS-5, AGS-6, AGS-7, AGS-8, AGS-9, AGS-10, AGS-13, AGS14 and AGS-15. The results indicated that that flower yield per plant had the positive and highly significant association with number of flowers per plant (0.772), test weight of 50 flowers (0.701), duration of flowering (0.626), number of primary branches per plant (0.583), number of secondary branches per plant (0.555), flower diameter (0.

Entrepreneurship involves the creation of jobs and wealth in the economy, normally through a small business management. The entrepreneurs may face some problems in performing these functions because certain psychological factors affect their entrepreneurship activities. The study investigated the impact of psychological factors on entrepreneurial intention among Agricultural students of SKUAST-K in Kashmir. Purposive sampling method was used to select colleges followed by simple random sampling to select students, constituting a sample size of 120.

Currently sugarcane crop yields are low and its area under cultivation is declining due to its high cost of cultivation and continuous reduction in announcing less remunerative prices to the farmers by the policy makers. Of late the area under this crop is continuously declining in Telangana state of India. In order to facilitate the farmers to get lucrative prices and to increase area under this crop, sugarcane yields have to be enhanced more than 250 t/ha.

Field experiment was conducted during 2004-05 and 2005-06 at CCS Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar to study the optimum time of pinching for better flower production in African marigold cv. Local selection. There were six levels of pinchings i.e. No pinching, 7 DAT (days after transplanting), 14 DAT, 21 DAT, 28 DAT and 35 DAT). A uniform dose of nitrogen @ 20 g/m2 , phosphorus @ 10 g/m2, potassium @ 10 g/m2 and 10 kg FYM per plot (1.2 m x 1.2 m) was applied. For statistical analysis factorial randomized block design was used with three replications.

Studies on genetic variability, heritability and genetic advance were carried out among 15 genotypes of chrysanthemum for characters to identify genotypes to be used in breeding programme. High PCV and GCV was recorded in fresh flower weight (GCV %: 69.92, PCV%: 70.25) indicate the existence of wide range of genetic variability and hence there is a good scope for the improvement of these characters through selection.

In Punjab sweet orange and commercial mandarin cultivars are generally grafted or budded on rootstock of rough lemon. This rootstock is highly vulnerable to phytophthora (foot rot) like diseases. Moreover, quality of kinnow plants budded or grafted on an effective rootstock should have good compatibility between both, scion and rootstock besides decent tolerance against predominant edaphic and environmental circumstances. The rootstocks have major effect in tree vigour, quality of the fruit, juice quality, yield including tolerance to salt and cold conditions.

This study was designed to micropropagate Vaccinium myrtillus L., a naturally growing bilberry, in the Turkish flora. In order to determine the most effective basal medium, lateral buds were initially selected as explants, which were then individually cultured in Murashige and Skoog medium, Anderson’s rhododendron medium, and McCown’s woody plant medium (WPM) supplemented with 1.0 mg L–1 zeatin in combination with either 0.1 mg L–1 indole-3-butyric acid (IBA).

As the production benefits of pruning fruit trees have been realized, growers have begun pruning periodically and, accordingly, various canopy training systems have begun to be developed. Following the genetic development of dwarfing rootstocks, interest has grown in the creation of modern training systems for smaller, more efficient orchards.

The most commonly used technique for planting is stump budding using improved varieties or clones (Status of… 2000). The quality of the planting material is the most important factor affecting the profitability and economics of the plantation and has to be judiciously selected depending on the local situation. Different situations warrant planting of particular types that have the capability to resist the adverse factors and produce good results. Accordingly different varieties like RRII 105, PB 217, GT 1 are commonly cultivated.

The area selected for rubber cultivation should be cleared of wild growth. Good drainage and suitable soil is required for rubber. Square planting is suitable for level and near level lands. Rectangular system with planting lines oriented in the East West direction can be adopted in flat lands and slopes. In undulating and hilly areas, planting should be done in rows across the slope along the contour lines. Along the rows, terraces of 2 m width must be formed. The planting density is 420 to 445 plants per hectare in the case of buddings...

Tubular organs are essential for organisms to establish transport systems for nutrients, liquids and gases. The development of tubes requires endocytosis of bound ligands, receptors and proteins at the plasma membrane (Bonifacino and Traub, 2003; Nelson, 2009). Clathrin coated vesicles (CCVs) organize major routes of cargo selective endocytosis in higher eukaryotic cells (Conner and Schmid, 2003). The formation of CCVs requires clathrin molecules. During CCV budding, clathrin molecules assemble to form a cage-like coat around the nascent vesicle membrane.

Most of the macadamia trees are propagated by grafting or budding selected variety in seedling rootstock. When setting up an orchard, with a choice to buy or propagating your own plants. Propagation macadamias, however, is a difficult and specialized activities. For this reason, it is best left to professionals Macadamia nursery. However, a basic knowledge of this process is valuable in the nursery to support understanding plant quality. In addition, existing trees topworking for new varieties could be an option for instead of planting some new trees planted....
