The present investigation was undertaken to know the various management practices adopted by buffalo owners. A sample of 200 farmers was classified into three categorized viz., small, medium and large based on the land holdings, in Katol tahsil.

The study was emphasized on awareness of buffalo owner about causes of buffalo infertility in Panchmahals district (Gujarat). Total 200 buffalo owners were selected with using simple random sampling method from 20 villages of 5 talukas of Panchmahals district. There was 62.00 percent of buffalo owners had medium level of awareness about causes of buffalo infertility.

This case report describes surgical removal of 3rd permanent corner incisor tooth along with hemorrhagic gingiva in buffalo caused due to oral trauma. The case was presented at Teaching Veterinary Clinical Complex, International Institute of Veterinary Education and Research (IIVER) Rohtak Haryana, with history of drooling of saliva, anorexia, absence of mastication and bleeding from mouth. Clinical examination revealed traumatic and hemorrhagic swollen area in 3rd permanent corner incisor tooth gingiva of lower jaw. Swollen area was hard, hot, painful and hemorrhagic.

A field survey was conducted to collect the relevant information on buffaloes managemental practices followed by 3932 responded in 22 villages of Udaipur district of Rajasthan. Closed type of house was provided by 48.50 % of the framers. Kaccha type of roof and floor were observed in 92.20% and 96.77% of the houses, respectively.

Study was carried out in Firozabad district of Uttar Pradesh involving 120 buffalo owners scattered in eight villages of two Tehsil. The farmers were further categorized into three groups viz., small (< 2 adult buffaloes), medium (> 2 and < 5 adult bufalloes) and large (> 5 adult buffaloes) householders. Data pertaining to various aspects of housing and feeding practices were collected through a pre- tested questionnaire.

The flesh fly Sarcophaga ruficornis is a pest of veterinary importance as it affects various animals reared for livestock including cows, buffaloes, sheep, and goats causing myiasis, which results in huge economic loss to the livestock owners. Various attempts have been made to control this fly using different chemical formulations. Barium carbonate is highly toxic compound upon acute and chronic exposures. Barium compounds have been found to have a toxic effect on different animal models.

A Female Buffalo was presented with hemoglobinuria and reduced milk yield with history of calving before one month. The buffalo was diagnosed to have hypophosphatemia through serum biochemistry and treated with phosphorus and calcium supplements and found better improvement over 5 days of treatment. Clinical advises were given to the animal owner and the buffalo recovered uneventfully.

The present investigation was carried out to study the socio-economic and milking patterns adopted by buffalo keepers in Junagadh and Porbandar districts of Gujarat State. A random sample of 300 buffalo owners were selected from three talukas of Junagadh and two talukas of Porbandar district. The study showed that a majority of buffalo owners (40%) were literate and belonged to middle age group. In the study area, 50.34% of the buffalo owners had large land holding and had nuclear type of family.

The present investigation was carried out to study the feeding and housing patterns adopted by buffaloes keepers in Junagadh and Porbandar districts of Gujarat State. A random sample of 300 buffalo owners were selected from three talukas of Junagadh and two talukas of Porbandar district. Majority of buffalo owners (55.67%) had animal shed located inside dwelling house with kuccha slopped floor (83.67%). Most of buffalo owners reduced heat stress in buffaloes by splashing of water and 71% farmers adopted both stall feeding and grazing to their buffalo.

A survey conducted to know the socio economic profile of buffalo farmers in Guntur and Prakasam of Andhra Pradesh. A total of 144 respondents were selected through multi stage random sampling and data collected with structured interview schedule. It was observed that buffalo farming is an occupation of young respondents with no formal schooling and small land owners belonging to all communities. It contributes 1/3rd of their family income. The average income obtained from buffalo farming was Rs. 75,236.

The data on productive performance and quality of milk was collected by contacting with 200 buffalo owners and chemical quality in terms of fat, SNF and TS percentage in milk of buffaloes were evaluated and analysed statistically to see the productive performance and to know the chemical quality of milk. Average maximum weekly milk yield was recorded in Thanegaon village (59.28±0.69) and minimum in the Akapur village (58.87±0.84) buffaloes supplemented with Bypass fat mineral mixture.

Present study was conducted with objective to explore the socio- personal, economic and psychological characteristics and information seeking behaviour of buffalo owners in Hisar and Jind district i.e. part of Murrah breeding tract of Haryana. Data was collected by interviewing 240 buffalo owners personally. Study revealed that majority of respondents were found in age group of 37-57 years, came from nuclear and small size family, medium family education status, small herd size, high risk orientation and medium economic motivation.

An extensive survey was carried out to record feeding practices and nutritional status of lactating buffaloes in Charkhi Dadri district of Haryana state. The survey was conducted during rabi season (January, 2019 - February, 2019). Twelve villages, representing all the blocks of the district were selected for this survey. Samples of feeds, fodder, milk, hair and blood were collected from five families from each category of farmers i.e. belonging to landless category and farmers with land holding in a village. Thus a total of 120 lactating buffaloes were selected for the study.

The study was conducted in Junagadh and Porbandar districts of Gujarat to compare breeding, calf and health management practices opted by buffalo owners (n=300). Majority of farmers practiced natural service (59%), late heat for insemination (76.34%), pregnancy diagnosis (90%) and treatment of anoestrous/repeaters buffaloes (90.33%). Most of respondents attended calving and took care of calves after parturition (98%) and cleaned calves (93.67%). However, few farmers practiced ligation/ cutting and disinfection of navel cord (14.33%) and feeding colostrum to calf (33.33%).
