Temperature/duration couples variation of cocoa beans roasting on the quantity and quality properties of extracted cocoa butter

The roasting conditions used were temperatures in the range of 110–197 °C and time ranging from 10 to 57 min. A total of 13 couple was tested. The result highlight that roasting conditions significantly affected the quantity of obtained butter.

Increased genetic variability for total plant yield and seeds per pod in M2 generation of butter bean (Phaseolus lunatus L) variety KKL-1

Study was carried out to investigation the yield and number of seed per pod of butter bean variety of KKL-1 in M2 generation. The total yield per plant shows that there was a general increase in the mean value for each treatment in the variety. The mean value in a treated population significantly varies as compared in the control.

Determination of lethal dose for gamma rays induced mutagenesis in butter bean (Phaseolus lunatus L) variety KKL-1

In the present studies treated the seeds using gamma rays different does 10 kR to 100 kR each treatment using 50 seeds. The percentage of seed germination ranges from 0 per cent to 52 per cent with different does of gamma rays in butter bean variety KKL-1 as compared to 86 per cent control. The different in seed germination are statistically significant. The LD50 value was found at 10 kR for seed germination. The percentage of survival was 81 per cent in control while it are significant range from 0 per cent 100 kR to 48 per cent 10 kR of gamma rays in butter bean variety KKL-1.

Evaluation of yield and yield attributing characters in pole type of dolichos bean (Lablab purpureus L.)

Field experiment was conducted under AICRP on Vegetable Crops, OUAT, Bhubaneswar, during Rabi season of 2018-19 to identify the suitable pole type of dolichos bean genotype (s) under the trial. Fourteen pole type dolichos bean genotypes were evaluated for seventeen characters by adopting randomized block design replicated thrice. Significant differences were recorded for all traits studied. 2016/DOLPVAR-6 was the earliest to flower in 34.27 days. 2016/DOLPVAR-5 recorded highest pod length (16.98 cm) and number of seeds pod-1 (4.67). Pod width was highest in 2016/DOLPVAR-12 (3.79 cm).
