The research results show that Quảng Ninh province residents’ livelihood is oyster farming, clams, fish, and nearshore fishing. Quảng Nam province residents’ livelihood combines farming, aquaculture, nearshore and offshore fishing. The livelihood of Cà Mau province residents with forest-shrimpcrab is the most prominent feature. Livelihood diversity is the trend of choice for many households today.

Bighead catfish, Clarias macrocephalus, is an important species for aquaculture. Nevertheless, information on population variation in their reproductive characteristics and larval growth is limited. This research aimed to evaluate the reproductive performance and larval growth of three bighead catfish broodstock strains collected in Ca Mau (CM) and Hau Giang (HG) provinces (wild strains), and Can Tho (CT, domesticated strain) in the Mekong Delta, Vietnam.

Recycling shrimp farming water is a way to address the trend toward a circular economy in Vietnam's coastal regions while also reducing the quantity of effluent that is released into the environment. In order to explore the potential for waste recycling, this study investigates the pond system of a highly intense Littopenaeus vannamei culture area in Ca Mau province.

Surface water from rivers plays a significant role in socio-economic development in Ca Mau province. It supplies freshwater for agriculture and aquaculture. Faced with the pressures of development, surface water quality in Ca Mau province has been being at stake. The aim of this paper was to assess the water quality status and wastewater receiving capacity of the main rivers of Ca Mau province.

The Mekong Group has investigated land subsidence in Ca Mau Province, Vietnam since November 2017. According to the uplifting phenomenon survey of the existing deep wells, the maximum uplifting rate of 2 cm/year was confirmed. Continuous monitoring of ground compaction and groundwater level at existing abandoned wells also showed the compaction occurs with lowering of groundwater level.

This article is to extent of saltwater intrusion of the Middle–Upper Pleistocene (qp2-3) in Ca Mau province. Based on samples analyzing data, 2 regression equations of each couple of the conductivity, total dissolved solids (TDS) were formulated and displayed on graphs, these can be applied to calculate TDS from available conductivity values in any areas.

The study aimed to investigate morphometric and meristic variability in the mud sleeper Butis koilomatodon (Bleeker, 1849) in the Mekong Delta. This species is a commercial fish species with a small-size and is mainly distributed in some coastal areas from Tra Vinh to Ca Mau provinces. In the present research, the parameters of morphometry and measurement, including the head length, body depth, eye diameter, distance of the two eyes, and the interrelationships among the morphometric variables, were determined.

Longer duration drought and more severe intensity drought mostly occur in the El-Nino year. In addition, by applying the Regional Spectral Model (RSM) for drought prediction, the results show that the RSM model captures well the inter-annual variation of the SPI index at timescale of 12 months, especially during severe water scarcity periods. Underestimated errors in the predicted SPI value can be bias-corrected for more proper determination of droughts from the RSM output. An important issue of drought prediction is warning of drought intensity during either dry or rainy season.

The following results were also recorded that abundance/biomass comparison (ABC) method has been used successfully for detecting the ecological quality status of sediment (EcoQ) in Tam Giang’s organic shrimp farming ponds. The results indicated that unfavourable deflections (stress) in EcoQ of Tam Giang’s organic shrimp farming ponds throughout the dry - transfer - rainy season. More specificall.

The conversion of inefficient agricultural and forest land to rice - shrimp farming model in the Mekong Delta in general and Ca Mau province in particular has brought remark benefits in terms of economic development. However, the introduction of salt water into some freshwater regions have created environmental problems, which is not only impact on shrimp farming but also on many other agricultural ecosystems.
