The age-stage, two-sex life table method was used for data analysis. The results indicated that EPF treatments affected the population growth rate of the aphids by causing prolongation of the development time, decrease in survival rate, shortening of adult longevity, and decrease in reproduction. The intrinsic rate of increase (r) and the finite rate of increase (λ) reflecting combined effects of all life history parameters were the highest in the control group and the lowest in M.

Field experiments were conducted during Rabi season of 2012-13 and 2013-14. The study revealed that the major natural enemies recorded were coccinellids, Coccinella septempunctata (Fab.), Cheilomenes sexmaculatus (Fab.) (Coleoptera: Coccinellidae); common green lacewing, Chrysoperla sp. (Neuroptera: Chrysopidae); aphid parasitoid, Diaeretiella sp. (Hymenoptera: Braconnidae); diamond back moth and tobacco caterpillar on parasitoid of Cotesia sp. (Hymenoptera: Braconidae).

Blackgram (Vigna mungo) is a major pulse crop grown in Tamil Nadu and leaf crinkle virus is an important disease that infects the crops at various stages of its growth, which reduce the yield drastically. There are conflicting reports on the transmission of ULCV by insects that includes aphids, leafhopper, whitefly and beetle. Hence, a study was carried out to identify the putative vectors involved in the transmission of the disease. Found that the virus was effectively transmitted by aphid vector, Aphis craccivora in a non-persistent manner and whitefly (Bemisia tabaci).

Studies on seasonal incidence of aphid (Brevicoryne brassicae L.), infesting cabbage (Brassica oleracea var. capitata L.) work was carried out at College of Agriculture, Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, Raipur (C.G.) during 2015-16 and 2016-17. The Brevicoryne brassicae L. damage was observed with a varying degree of infestation. The peak population of aphid, Brevicoryne brassicae L., was observed 172.5 / 20 plants and 140.45/ 20 plants in month of Febuary during both years (2015-16 and 2016-17), respectively.
