This work uses the finite element method for the first time to simulate the dynamic response of nanoplates resting on a two-parameter elastic foundation under the flexoelectric effect. The calculation formulas are derived from the new type of the shear deformation theory, which is a simple shear deformation theory.

This study investigates the static bending and free vibration behaviour of Multi-directional Functionally Graded plates having a variable thickness. With this regard, the third-order shear deformation plate theory is used to describe the kinematic relation. Material properties of MFGM are assumed to be graded in spatial direction within the plate’s volume and the effective material properties are calculated based on the power-law approach.

In this paper, the mechanical behavior of symmetric FGM sandwich beams where each component layer is made from different funtionally graded materials and conected to one another by shear connectors is carried out. The finite element formulations are constructed based on the first-order shear deformation theory (FSDT) of Timoshenko for beam and finite element method. The research shows that the main problem to be solved is the deformation of the foundation pit, and the deformation of side wall of foundation pit tunnel is the most obvious. The maximum deformation of the side wall of the main tunnel and the auxiliary tunnel reached the maximum at 15 m. The maximum deformation of the main tunnel is about 1.3 cm, and that of the auxiliary tunnel is about 0.9 cm.

On that basis predicting the suitable distance horizontal loading piles that a pile negligible influenced from adjacent pile on a slope. This paper describes design and calculation of an electrothermal V-shaped actuator (EVA) and an amplification mechanism integrated into a force measuring microsystem (FMMS), aims to apply for characterization of a micro beam. Displacement and driving force are generated by thermal expansion of the V-shaped silicon beams while applying a voltage to the electrodes of the EVA. ANSYS simulation helps to find out the relations between thermal force and displacement corresponding to driving voltage and determine the temperature of V-shaped beam at various applying voltages.

We obtained the analytic expressions of the specific heat at constant volume of metals which are dependent on the value of q-deformed parameters. Results calculated for the specific heat at constant volume for some kinds of alkali and transition metals show good agreement with those obtained by other theories and in experiments as well.
