Obstructive urolithiasis is mainly a complaint of Murrah crossbred buffalo male calves and goat male kids with a history of not having passed urine since 4-5 days. Maximum times there were complete cessation of the urination and distension of abdomen. Diagnosis was made on the basis of a history of anuria, clinical signs, and abdominocentesis. Tube cystostomy is a treatment of choice and easy applicable method for the surgical management of obstructive urolithiasis in field conditions. The oral feeding of Ammonium Chloride may be helpful for the dissolution of urethral calculi.

Myiasis in all species of animals is very common during the rainy season. The present case report emphasizes on such one interesting case in a 20 day old male buffalo calf infested with maggots in gingival region. The calf was successfully treated with rinsing by normal saline solution, turpentine oil, antiseptic solution and ivermectin injection.

A purposive study was conducted on 200 cattle farmers selected randomly from all over Punjab. The data was collected by personal interview cum questionnaire schedule consisting of the management practices followed by the farmers and knowledge regarding the calf rearing practices. Data revealed that 60% farmers provided a separate calving pen for parturition but not all of them know the exact measurements.

A one-month-old, 30 kg calf was presented to Referral Veterinary Polyclinic ICAR-IVRI, Bareilly, with the history of anorexia, salivation, dullness, ataxia, laboured breathing and administration of bolus having a combination of fenbendazole (3000mg) and ivermectin (100mg). Clinical examination revealed pale mucous membrane, mydriasis, the absence of pupillary and menace reflex, sticky salivation, normal body temperature, tachycardia, tachypnoea, dull, depressed, sudden fall with tremors, abnormal posture and gait.

Fertility augmentation approaches Fertility is one of the key determinants of the life time reproductive performance of the dairy cattle (Bos taurus and Bos indicus) and riverine buffaloes (Bubalus bubalis) which is reflected by its genotype, physiological condition, nutrition and management. It is assessed by the ability of a dairy cow to produce one calf per year. Fertility in riverine buffalo is considerably lower than in cattle.

A female jersey dairy calf of three months old under intensive management presented with normal appetence but emaciation and stunted growth was diagnosed with subclinical parasitism by the tapeworm, Moniezia expansa and intestinal coccidia, Eimeria bovis diagnosed by faecal examination. The present study was conducted to know the selective breeding, feeding and management practices followed by dairy farmers in Punjab. A total of 150 farmers were selected randomly and divided into three categories, small (n=48), medium (n=74) and large (n=28). With help of well-structured interview schedule and pretested questionnaire data were collected w.r.t. breeding, feeding and management practices being followed. A study was conducted to evaluate the existing housing and feeding management practices followed by the dairy animal keepers in U.S. Nagar district of Uttarakhand. It was observed that majority of farmers housed their animal in pucca house 73.89%, whereas 26.11% had kaccha houses for their animals. 81.67% farmers were following group system of animal housing.
