This study applied an integrated surface water-groundwater (SW-GW) model, SWAT-MODFLOW to study interaction of surface and groundwater than simulate saltwater intrusion at a regional scale in Da Nang coastal city. Model components were calibrated and validated using monthly river flow data and hydraulic head data for the 2005-2020 period and showed good agreement with observed data.

We present a new method, Fine-Mapping of Adaptive Variation (FineMAV), which combines population differentiation, derived allele frequency, and molecular functionality to prioritize positively selected candidate variants for functional follow-up. This paper presents the results of nearshore wave propagation and transformation and the distribution of wave set-up during storms in the coastal area of Cua Dai, Hoi An, using the SWAN model and the XBEACH model. In addition, a simplified surrogate model for use in conjunction with coarse shell element meshes is also calibrated. Simulations are performed of all structural experiments to assess the range of validity of the detailed and simplified FE models. It is found that the detailed model captures the experimentally observed failure modes including changes in the location of fracture initiation as a function of the loading, while the simplified model is able to predict the spot weld strength with reasonable accuracy.

This paper presents the evaluation of the Thick Target Particle Induced X-rays Emission (TTPIXE) technique using standard samples. The element-dependent standardization factor, H, as a function of X-ray energies is calibrated using standard sample NIST-611 and validated with two standard samples: IAEA-Soil7 and NIES-Pepperbush. The obtained results are in good agreement with the reference data.

The main aim of this study is to construct and validate a nomogram for estimating the risk of POI by investigating how perioperative features contribute to POI.

The calibration data is measured over a wide range of rail pressure and energizing time (ET) corresponding to the engine operating conditions. The results show that the injector model developed here is reliable and suitable for examining the injector’s hydraulic characteristics. The difference in start of injection values obtained through experiment and simulation is only about 15 µs.

A new method based on LC-ICP-MS technique has been developed and validated for the simultaneous determination of borax and polyphosphates (phosphate, pyrophosphate, tripolyphosphate) in foods. The analytes were extracted from the samples with 18 mM sulfuric acid solution using ultrasonic vibration extraction technique before being filtered and analyzed by LC-ICP-MS system. The method was validated with calibration curves that have the coefficient of determination (R2 ) higher than 0.995.

These compounds were separated on a C30 chromatography column with ethyl acetate: acetonitrile (12:88, v/v) containing 0.1% n-decanol as the mobile phase. Flooding caused by historically high flows, especially in Tra Khuc-Ve River basin in the Mid-Central region in Vietnam in November 2013, which caused widespread damage. The purpose of this paper was to establish the inundation maps in the downstream part of Tra Khuc-Ve rivers by using the coupling of the hydrological and hydraulic models (MIKE SHE/MIKE 11 and MIKE 11 GIS). Calibration and validation of the hydrological model were in good agreement in terms of the vibration amplitude, absolute value, and phases.

The aim of this study was the calibration and validation of DSSAT model (v4.5) for late sown wheat in western zone of Haryana. The DSSAT model was calibrated with the field experimental data of rabi 2010-11 having 3 levels of irrigation (one irrigation at crown root initiation [CRI], two irrigations at CRI and heading and four irrigations at CRI, late tillering, heading and milking) and 5 nitrogen levels (0, 50, 100, 150 and 200 kg N/ha) and validated with data of experiment rabi 2011-12 conducted at Hisar (29°10ˈ N and 75°46ˈ E).
