Calibration estimators

This study examined students’ calibration of performance in a sport skill in relation to their performance in an executive functions test. A total of 265 students in the fourth, fifth, and sixth grades participated in the study. The students took an executive functions test, and then they were tested on a basketball shooting test, after having provided a personal estimation regarding their performance.

In order to make a reliable QPE product, a quality check for rain gauge data comparing mutual rain gauge data experimented and 1) missing data ratio, 2) proportion to mean of nearly ten stations, and 3) double sum curve check was selected as thresholds to select relatively reliable rain gauge stations. As a result of the quality check for rain gauge data in May 2023, 1,299 stations were chosen, and QPE with rain gauges selected showed stable precipitation distribution.

There are over 363 customized risk models of the American College of Cardiology and the American Heart Association (ACC/AHA) pooled cohort equations (PCE) in the literature, but their gains in clinical utility are rarely evaluated. We build new risk models for patients with specific comorbidities and geographic locations and evaluate whether performance improvements translate to gains in clinical utility.

This paper presents a novel all-digital background calibration technique for general TimeInterleaved Analog-to-Digital Converters (TIADCs). Calibration of gain and timing mismatch of TIADCs using the estimation technique is designed based on the principle of the Adaptive Noise Canceller (ANC). In this ANC, there are two stages in gain, timing mismatch estimation in which a cascade structure of the correction and estimation is proposed to guarantee that our calibration achieves high performance.

We present Gene-Aware Variant INterpretation (GAVIN), a new method that accurately classifies variants for clinical diagnostic purposes. Classifications are based on gene-specific calibrations of allele frequencies from the ExAC database, likely variant impact using SnpEff, and estimated deleteriousness based on CADD scores for >3000 genes.

Our aims were to investigate species-specific ecophysiological responses of canopy trees in a mixed Turkey oak forest during their early-phase regeneration. Jhum or shifting cultivation, which is widespread in the North East India and some parts of Orissa, Jharkhand and Andhra Pradesh, is a primitive practice of cultivation. For accurate and easy estimation of runoff and sediment yield can be done by using physical based continuous hydrological model. Among the many hydrological model Soil and Water Assessment Tool (SWAT) is the more promising model for simulations in predominant agricultural watershed. Moreover the model is better in assessing both spatial and temporal variability of the hydrological process under very large watershed. The present paper provides the methodology used by the SWAT for calculation of runoff and sediment yield.

Surface runoff estimation from a watershed is a prerequisite for surface water assessment. Hydrological models are the only tool to assess the flow from a watershed under different scenarios. The Soil and Water Assessment Tool (SWAT), a physically based hydrological model, is used modelling monthly streamflow in Altuma catchment. The model was calibrated from 1985 to 1996. Initial 3 years from 1985 to 1987 were taken as warm up periods. Then the model was validated for 7 years from 1997 to 2003.

Field experiment was conducted during kharif season of 2018 at the instructional farm of IGKV, Raipur to calibrate soil test, fertilizer dose and crop yield for hybrid rice under SRI method. Various basic parameters viz. nutrient requirement, Contribution of nutrients from soil, fertilizer and organic manure (FYM) were obtained. It was found that hybrid rice (var. IRH-103) required 1.57 kg N, 0.32 kg P and 1.71 kg K to produce one quintal grain yield. The efficiencies of fertilizer and soil test in terms of available nutrients were estimated as 32.66, 73.38, 16.39 percent and 39.87, 30.

In the present paper, an attempt has been made to conduct a limited simulation study to examine the relative performance of calibration approach based estimators. The real data has been taken from Appendix-C of Sarndal et al., (2003). The study variate y and the auxiliary variate x are the population of the Sweden in year 1985 and year 1975 which is divided in 284 municipalities (MU284). The results have been found that the calibration estimators have outperformed the usual estimator of finite population mean in two-stage stratified random sampling.
