Campanula L.

Ecological niche models (ENMs) provide information to assess the effects of environmental and climatic conditions on species distribution. The purpose of this study was to predict the impact of climate change on a critically endangered species, Campanula yaltirikii H.Duman. It is a local endemic chasmophyte from Mt Çığlıkara (Antalya, Turkey), restricted to cracks in calcareous rocks and threatened by goat overgrazing. Current and future ENMs of C. yaltirikii were predicted with a maximum entropy (Maxent) algorithm.

The vascular flora of the Karagöl-Sahara National Park and its environs (fiavflat, Artvin, Turkey) was assessed between 1997 and 2002. In the area under review, 872 taxa belonging to 364 genera and 91 families were identified. Of the 872 taxa, 21 Pteridophytes and 851 Spermatophytes were detected. Spermatophytes also contained 7 Gymnospermae and 844 Angiospermae taxa.

Two taxa, R. raphanistrum L. subsp. rostratus (DC.) Thell. and Campanula hierosolymitana Boiss., collected from southern Anatolia are described as a second records for the Flora of Turkey. Different taxonomists had collected these taxa from Turkey, but these collected samples were not identified correctly.

The vascular flora of forest vegetation in Altindere Valley (Maçka-Trabzon) was investigated. The study was conducted between 2001 and 2002, during which time 1200 plant samples were collected.

Campanula raddeana Trautv. (Campanulaceae), based on samples collected from Çıldır (A9 Ardahan), and Galatella cretica Gand. (Asteraceae), based on samples collected from Marmaris (C1 Muğla), were recorded as new findings for the Flora of Turkey.
