Growth and carcass traits are very important traits for broiler chickens. However, carcass traits can only be measured postmortem. Genomic selection may be a powerful tool for such traits because of its accurate prediction of breeding values of animals without own phenotypic information.

The effects of safflower oil and vitamin C (Vit. C) inclusion in broiler chicken diets on the growth performance, apparent ileal digestibility coefficient “AID%” of amino acids, intestinal histology, behavior, carcass traits, fatty acid composition of the breast muscle, antioxidant and immune status for a 35-day feeding period were evaluated.

Excess fat content in chickens has a negative impact on poultry production. The discovery of QTL associated with fat deposition in the carcass allows the identification of positional candidate genes (PCGs) that might regulate fat deposition and be useful for selection against excess fat content in chicken’s carcass. This study aimed to estimate genomic heritability coefficients and to identify QTLs and PCGs for abdominal fat (ABF) and skin (SKIN) traits in a broiler chicken population, originated from the White Plymouth Rock and White Cornish breeds.

This study was conducted to find out the efficacy of probiotic (Bacillus subtilis) on growth performance and carcass traits of broiler birds. The experiment followed completely randomized design in which the day old broiler chicks (n=180) were divided into 4 dietary treatment groups (T1-T4) as 3 replicates of 15 chicks in each.

An experiment of six weeks period was conducted to evaluate the effect of supplementing enzymes in soybean replaced with DDGS based diet on the performance and carcass characteristics of broiler chicks. The experimental work was conducted on 280 day old commercial broiler chickens randomly divided into seven dietary treatments having two replicates with twenty birds in each replicate, in each treatment group.

An experiment was carried out to evaluate the carcass characteristics of broiler chicken fed with different levels of Sheep manure with or without enzyme supplementation. A total of 210 broiler chicks were procured from commercial hatchery and brooded under uniform managemental condition for one week. On 8th day the chicks were distributed into five treatment groups viz. T1, T2, T3, T4 and T5 containing 42 chicks in each which were subdivided into three replicates of 14 chicks each.

A study was conducted to compare the carcass characteristics and meat composition of a triple cross progeny involving (Hansli × CSML) ♂and CSFL ♀ chicken, taken as the treatment group, with that of a cross of coloured synthetic broiler parent lines (CSML ♂ × CSFL ♀) chicken, taken as the control group, raised under intensive management system. Six healthy birds of 8 weeks of age from each group were sacrificed for this purpose. The pre-slaughtered live weight, eviscerated weight and dressed weight were 1256.67±110.67g, 826.33±74.54g and 905.00±78.
