Kawasaki disease (KD) is a common vasculitis of childhood in East Asia. The complications of KD ascribed to long-term cardiovascular sequelae are considerably diverse. Kawasaki disease is a common childhood vasculitis which may result in cardiovascular morbidity if not adequately treated. Its epidemiology in the African region is not well described. Its features may mimic other childhood infections and hemoglobinopathies and it is rarely diagnosed in the East African region.

Bladder, uterine, and rectal prolapse are common sequelae of childbirth. Sometimes bulging is obvious on initial inspection, but other times it may only be evident when the patient bears down as if she were attempting to void and then defecate.
