There are various challenges of the live animal industry, not just in Malaysia but also to many parts of the world. This study focuses on the supply chain management of live animal trading in Malaysia. This study aims to investigate the challenges specifically in supply chain management areas in the live animal trading. A total of 20 semi-structured interviews have been carried out with a few companies involved in the industry and a few officers from the Malaysian Quarantine and Inspection Services (MAQIS).

The study is an attempt to examine empirically the effects of oil price shock on current account imbalances. The analysis is carried out on the crosscountry panel of 160 countries that are divided into three different groups base on their level of oil imports. The relationship between the oil price shock and current account imbalances is rigorously assessed using two different approaches. Firstly, the seemingly unrelated regression models are used to estimate the effects of oil price shock on current account imbalances with transmission channels namely trade, valuation, and wealth.

This study investigates the relationship between cross-sectional carry trade returns and global foreign exchange volatility risk. During periods of high volatility innovations, the average carry trade returns on emerging markets are higher than that of all countries or developed economies. Furthermore, the average returns on managed-float and fixed-rate carry trades are significantly higher than that of freefloat carry trade. Government currency intervention in emerging markets can explain these differences.

This paper aims to study the relative information shares of spot and futures market at the individual stock level to measure the price discovery in spot and futures market in the Indian capital markets. We find that the spot and futures prices are co-integrated and mutually adjusting. Building on Information Share approach of Hasbrouck, the price discovery share of futures segment is about 36% compared to that of spot segment is 64%.

Neutron scattering applications often require discriminating the elastic contribution from the inelastic contribution. For this purpose, correlation spectroscopy offers an effective tool with both pulsed and continuous neutron sources as well as several advantages: the analysis of the neutron velocity distribution can be carried out with a duty factor of 50%, independently on the resolution value; the best statistical accuracy for spectra where the elastic part encompasses most of the integrated intensity is provided.

In many circumstances retailer is not able to settle the account as soon as items are received. In that scenario supplier can offer two promotional schemes namely cash discount and /or a permissible delay to the customer. In this study, an EOQ model is developed when units in inventory deteriorate at a constant rate and demand is stock dependent. The salvage value is associated to deteriorated units. An algorithm is given to find the optimal solution. The sensitivity analysis is carried out to analyze the effect of critical parameters on optimal solution.

This paper develops an infinite time-horizon deterministic economic order quantity (EOQ) inventory model with deterioration based on discounted cash flows (DCF) approach where demand rate is assumed to be non-linear over time. The results are illustrated with a numerical example. Sensitivity analysis of the optimal solution with respect to the parameters of the system is carried out.
