Oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) is a common malignant tumor associated with poor prognosis. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) play crucial regulatory roles in the cancer development. However, the role of miRNAs in OSCC development and progression is not well understood. Methods We sought to establish a dynamic Chinese hamster OSCC animal model, construct miRNA differential expression profiles of its occurrence and development, predict its targets, and perform functional analysis and validation in vitro.

Long non-coding RNAs play an important role in the development of colorectal cancer (CRC), while many CRC-related lncRNAs have not yet been identified. The relationship between the expression of LINC00955 (Long Intergenic Non-protein Coding RNA 955) and the prognosis of colorectal cancer patients was analyzed using the sequencing results of the TCGA database.

We present a novel approach, the Local Edge Machine, for the inference of regulatory interactions directly from time-series gene expression data. We demonstrate its performance, robustness, and scalability on in silico datasets with varying behaviors, sizes, and degrees of complexity. Moreover, we demonstrate its ability to incorporate biological prior information and make informative predictions on a well-characterized in vivo system using data from budding yeast that have been synchronized in the cell cycle.

Metazoan cells only utilize a small subset of the potential DNA replication origins to duplicate the whole genome in each cell cycle. Origin choice is linked to cell growth, differentiation, and replication stress.

Cell division and death play an important role in embryonic development. Cell specialization is accompanied with slow proliferation and quiescence. Cell death is important for morphogenesis. Gene expression changes during differentiation is coordinated by lineage-specific transcription factors and chromatin factors. It is not yet fully understood how alterations in gene expression and cell cycle/death mechanisms are connected. We previously identified a chromatin protein Arid4b as a critical factor for meso/ endoderm differentiation of mouse embryonic stem cells (mESCs).

Mammalian hair play an important role in mammals’ ability to adapt to changing climatic environments. The seasonal circulation of yak hair helps them adapt to high altitude but the regulation mechanisms of the proliferation and differentiation of hair follicles (HFs) cells during development are still unknown.

Biological systems and processes are highly dynamic. To gain insights into their functioning time-resolved measurements are necessary. Time-resolved gene expression data captures temporal behaviour of the genes genome-wide under various biological conditions: in response to stimuli, during cell cycle, differentiation or developmental programs.

Biochemical networks are often described through static or time-averaged measurements of the component macromolecules. Temporal variation in these components plays an important role in both describing the dynamical nature of the network as well as providing insights into causal mechanisms.

Temozolomide (TMZ) is the most widely used drug to treat glioblastoma (GBM), which is the most common and aggressive primary tumor of the Central Nervous System and one of the hardest challenges in oncotherapy. TMZ is an alkylating agent that induces autophagy, apoptosis and senescence in GBM cells.

DNA replication and transcription are dynamic processes regulating plant development that are dependent on the chromatin accessibility. Proteins belonging to the Agenet/Tudor domain family are known as histone modification “readers” and classified as chromatin remodeling proteins.

Environmental factors that plants face during their life cycle are dynamic in nature. Plants require adequate amount of water for their growth and development. At the event of moisture deficit in the soil, the water potential in the cells drastically reduced. Under salt stress, plants succumb to salt injuries in addition to dehydration. Plants try to combat such situation by adopting a variety of mechanisms, including closure of stomata that limits water loss and exclusion of Na+ to reduce salt injury.

Báo cáo khoa học: Gene expression waves Cell cycle independent collective dynamics in cultured cells
The ergodic hypothesis, which assumes the independence of each cell of the ensemble from all the others, is a necessary prerequisite to attach single cell based explanations to the grand averages taken from population data. This was the prevailing view about the interpretation of cellular biology experi-ments that typically are performed on colonies of billions of cells.

Mixed lineage leukemias (MLLs) are histone H3 at lysine 4 (H3K4)-spe-cific methylases that play a critical role in regulating gene expression in humans. As chromatin condensation, relaxation and differential gene expression are keys to correct cell cycle progression, we analyzed the dynamic association of MLL and H3K4 trimethylation at different stages of the cell cycle.

Recently, the conserved human LINC⁄DREAM complex has been described as an important regulator of cell cycle genes. LINC consists of a core module that dynamically associates with E2F transcription factors, p130 and the B-MYB transcription factor in a cell cycle-dependent manner. In this study, we analyzed the evolutionary conserved LIN54 subunit of LINC.

DNA replication, the process of copying one double stranded DNA molecule to produce two identical copies, is at the heart of cell proliferation. This book highlights new insights into the replication process in eukaryotes, from the assembly of pre-replication complex and features of DNA replication origins, through polymerization mechanisms, to propagation of epigenetic states. It also covers cell cycle control of replication initiation and includes the latest on mechanisms of replication in prokaryotes. The association between genome replication and transcription is also addressed.

The taxanes include paclitaxel and docetaxel. These agents differ from the vinca alkaloids in that the taxanes stabilize microtubules against depolymerization. The "stabilized" microtubules function abnormally and are not able to undergo the normal dynamic changes of microtubule structure and function necessary for cell cycle completion. Taxanes are among the most broadly active antineoplastic agents for use in solid tumors, with evidence of activity in ovarian cancer, breast cancer, Kaposi's sarcoma, and lung tumors.
