Cellulose fibers

This study aimed to extract cellulose fibers from coffee grounds using a non-toxic and cost-efficient alkaline hydrogen peroxide extraction method. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) analysis results indicated that, after being dried, the cellulose fibers tended to aggregate into bundles, with no individual fibers observed.

Cellulose nano fibers (CNF) are being considered as potential material for producing aerogel, an advanced materials for filtration technology. In this study, CNF were extracted from the sugarcance bagasse (a common agricultural waste) using ultrasonic technology and then fabricated with different additives including polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), polyethylene glycol (PEG) and graphene oxide (GO) to formulate aerogels.

In this work, novel cellulosic fibers are extracted from Washingtonia Filifera (WF) plant using an environment friendly technique. Morphological, physico-chemical, thermal and mechanical properties are reported in this paper.
