Breeding of wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) cultivars with improved adaptation to low-N fertilization has gained importance worldwide nowadays. The present investigation aimed to identify the best general combiners and parental combinations for recombination breeding under low nitrogen condition to improve the nitrogen use efficiency. Six parents and fifteen F1s were evaluated under 50 per cent nitrogen condition using randomized complete block design with three replications.

A field experiment was conducted during rabi 2015-16 to study the influence of seed bed manipulations and weed management practices on growth, yield and economics of wheat under organic conditions at Model Organic Farm of CSKHPKV, Palampur. Results revealed that standard seed bed recorded 6.73 and 12.46 per cent higher wheat yield and net returns, respectively over stale seed bed.

In India, wheat is the most important cereal crop and plays a major role in food and nutritional safety. Worldwide, there is a growing interest in the development of wheat cultivars that are more effective in utilizing nitrogen (N) and better suited to N constraints. he objective of this research was to investigate the comparative significance of general (GCA) and specific (SCA) combining ability in a set of wheat genotypes with promising lines and their corresponding half-diallel crosses.

The climate determines selection of right crop and its sequence for a particular location, while the prevailing weather conditions dictate the potentiality of that crop and nitrogen use. On an average every 1oC rise in temperature could lead to a 20 per cent reduction in crop yields. Therefore, the two big challenges viz., finite cultivable land and rise in temperature have to be overcome by agricultural sector to sustain crop yields. In this direction, one of the ways is to use weather and climate as non-monetary input in crop production. Among the crops, rice is a weather sensitive crop.

Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria (PGPR) are a group of rhizospheric bacteria, found in association with plant roots and enhance the growth of plant directly or indirectly. To isolate multi-trait PGPR, total 7 soil sample were collected from sugarcane rhizosphere with diverse previous cropping pattern. Total 38 distinct isolates were obtained in pure culture from above collected samples, were screened for their ability of plant growth promoting characters in in vitro conditions. Out of this, 100% showed antagonistic potential, 55.26%, 42.11% and 52.

The investigation was conducted at farmer field (Kallur Village), Manvi Tq., Raichur Dt. The soil was clayey in nature and slightly alkaline (7.9) in reaction, low in nitrogen as well as available phosphorus and rich in available potassium. The environmental conditions were favorably congenial for normal growth and maturity of pigeonpea crop. The experiment was laid out in Randomized Block Design with three replications and ten treatments.

By the nature of the work they undertake abroad, women may be particularly vulnerable. 11 To a greater degree than men, women tend to face harder and more precarious conditions in receiving countries, especially if they are illiterate, unfamiliar with customs and language in the host country, and lack any marketable skills. Gender is also a key factor when considering the likelihood of remittances being sent and received.
