Changes on soil properties
-
In the experiment layout, there were different plots receiving different kinds of soil amendments. In this study, therefore, we summarized annual reports of that project and the evaluation after revegetation, especially through the viewpoint of the changes in soil properties.

Quang Nam province located in the middle of Vietnam, has suffered an increasing drought for many years, this threatens the crop production. Drought severity seems to be added in by land use change from forest to horticultural land but the interactions among drought, land use change and soil biological properties remain elusive in this area.

Soil type is a vital determinant of soil fertility because of its characteristic biological, chemical, and physical properties. However, the soil fertility of upland soil is probably changed by different agricultural management practices regardless of soil type. This study investigated the features of soil fertility (bacterial biomass, total carbon (TC), and total nitrogen (TN)) in upland fields in Japan. One thousand soil samples from different soil types were collected from upland fields located on 36 prefectures in Japan.

Polymer blending as an efficient method for blending at least two polymers is usually used to create new materials with desirable physical properties. This article focuses on the biodegradability evaluation of polypropylene (PP) fibers modified with disposable recycled poly(lactic acid) (r-PLA) plastic flakes. Biodegradable modified PP fibers containing 30% r-PLA were prepared by melt spinning process and evaluated with different methods of biodegradation assays.

Soil forms an integral part of the ecosystem and at present the quality of a soil is defined not only in terms of its productive capacity, but also by taking the ecosystem into consideration. Consequently, when soil productivity has to be maximized, environmental effects must be given proper consideration. Thus the changes in soil quality caused by different types of land use must first be quantified for attaining sustainability in use and management.

A field experiment was conducted at Institutional Farm, Rajasthan College of Agriculture, Udaipur, (Rajasthan) during kharif, 2014 on clay loam soil. The experiment was laid out according to factorial randomized block design with three replications. The experiment comprised four fertility levels of (control, 50% RDF, 75% RDF, and 100 % RDF) and four biofertiliizers levels (control, PSB, Rhizobium and Rhizobium + PSB) were applied to the black gram var.T-9.

The nano-lime and nano-dolomite had the surface areas of 1000 and 900 m2 g -1 , respectively, which are nearly 10 times higher than their respective conventional counter parts. Nano-liming is more effective due to the extensive surface areas of these materials that had increased by ten times which correspondingly increased the exchange properties. As a result of eluviations of acidity producing cations, the Ca and Mg added through the liming materials got adsorbed that closely coincided with a set of favourable changes in soil properties.

Fly ash has tremendous potential as a nutrient supplement and plays a favourable role in increasing growth performance. Fly ash constitutes above 70% of the whole amount of residues formed in power plants through combustion of coal. The addition of Fly ash in soil improves or changes various physical, chemical and biological characteristics of soil. Fly ash is used for the improvement of the soil texture, water holding capability, density, bulk density, porosity etc. by using in different ratio with soil. For the growth of plant and crop yield fly ash is used as ameliorate in acidic soils.

ntroduction of new agricultural technology created growing realization of soil physical properties limiting crop production. However, soil physical changes and their impact on crop production are less easily realized because of their exceedingly complex and dynamic nature. Since the nature and arrangement of aggregates in soils could be expected to have a profound influence on pore space, which in turn would govern air and water relations, wide use has been made of aggregate analyses to evaluate spot physical conditions.

Soil is crucial to life on earth. Enormous agriculture practices may emerge a numerous problem like reduction in soil fertility, erosion, ground water contamination which has direct impact on the soil health. It is indispensable to study overall microbial activity potential and different changes in soil biological properties for maintaining soil health and its quality. Soil enzyme is essential to play important role in maintaining soil health and to asses it quality.

Following the industrial revolution in the nineteenth century, agricultural machinery and tractors became available for tillage operations. Different types of tillage systems have different tillage depths and capacity to change soil physical properties that affect the crop yield and quality. Important soil physical properties such as bulk density, penetration resistance, water infiltration, hydraulic conductivity and soil compaction are affected by tillage.
