  • Recently, conventional logistic maps have been used in different vital applications like modeling and security. However, unfortunately the conventional logistic maps can tolerate only one changeable parameter. In this paper, three different generalized logistic maps are introduced with arbitrary powers which can be reduced to the conventional logistic map. The added parameter (arbitrary power) increases the degree of freedom of each map and gives us a versatile response that can fit many applications.

  • This paper summarizes the symmetric image encryption results of 27 different algorithms, which include substitution-only, permutation-only or both phases. The cores of these algorithms are based on several discrete chaotic maps (Arnold’s cat map and a combination of three generalized maps), one continuous chaotic system (Lorenz) and two non-chaotic generators (fractals and chess-based algorithms).

  • This paper presents the design of the generalized Double Humped (DH) logistic map, used for pseudorandom number key generation (PRNG). The generalized parameter added to the map provides more control on the map chaotic range. A new special map with a zooming effect of the bifurcation diagram is obtained by manipulating the generalization parameter value. The dynamic behavior of the generalized map is analyzed, including the study of the fixed points and stability ranges, Lyapunov exponent, and the complete bifurcation diagram.

  • In this paper we have designed a new image encryption algorithm, which includes a novel chaotic map and coding scheme. In the suggested approach, the coding algorithm is based on Gray code. Each pixel in the encrypted image is generated by applying XOR operation to two items: the first item is the coded form of the corresponded pixel in the original image. The second one is a pixel in the original image which is selected by the chaotic map.

  • We discuss how chaos conditions on maps carry over to their products. First we give a counterexample showing that the product of two chaotic maps (in the sense of Devaney) need not be chaotic. We then remark that if two maps (or even one of them) exhibit sensitive dependence on initial conditions, so does their product, likewise, if two maps possess dense periodic points, so does their product.

  • For many classically chaotic systems it is believed that the quantum wave functions become uniformly distributed, that is the matrix elements of smooth observables tend to the phase space average of the observable. In this paper we study the fluctuations of the matrix elements for the desymmetrized quantum cat map. We present a conjecture for the distribution of the normalized matrix elements, namely that their distribution is that of a certain weighted sum of traces of independent matrices in SU(2).
