  • A pot experiment was conducted during kharif season of 2016-17 and 2017-18 in completely randomized design with two lime levels (0 and ¼ lime of LR), four phosphorus levels (0, 13.4, 26.8 and 40.2 mg P2O5 kg-1 ) and three boron levels (0, 0.45 and 0.90 mg B kg-1 ) to study the treatment effect on nutrient content and uptake of maize and soil properties. It was observed that lime had a significant effect on biomass yield, nutrient content and uptake of maize.

  • The present study disclose the nutritional characteristics of high and low resistant starch (RS) containing maize (Zea mays L.) genotypes and determined in order to identify different correlations between them. A set of 5 high and 5 low RS containing selfed maize genotypes, mostly hybrids of public as well as private sector widely grown and analyzed for the carbohydrate profile (amylose, amylopectin and starch), protein, oil, ash and crude fiber content.

  • A weed is essentially any plant which grows where it is not required. A weed can be thought of as any plant growing in the wrong place at the wrong time and doing more harm than good. Weeds are the most severe and widespread biological constraint to crop production, and cause invisible damage till the crop is harvested. The composition and competition by weeds are dynamic and dependent on soil, climate, cropping and management factors. Weeds decrease the value of land, particularly perennial weeds, which tend to accumulate on long fallows; increase cost of cleaning.
