Phytochemical study on the leaves of Fissistigma balansae led to the isolation of one new sesquiterpene glycoside, (3S,6E)-3-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl-8-hydroxy-3,7,11-trimethyldodeca-1,6,10-triene, and six known compounds, aromandendrane-4β,10α-diol, phloridzosid, astragalin, isoquercitrin, and rutin, acanthoside B. Their chemical structures were identified by HR-ESI-MS and NMR (1D and 2D) spectra. This is the first report of these compounds from F. balansae.

Mast cells are closely associated with epithelium, serving as sentinels responsible for the recognition of tissue injury and coordination of the initial inflammatory response. Upon detection of the injured cell content, mast cells then tailor the release of preformed and newly produced chemical mediators to the detected challenge, via an array of pathogen receptors.

This specification covers hot-rolled and cold-rolled drawing alloy-steel sheet and strip. Material of this quality is produced principally for applications involving severe cold plastic deformation such as deep drawn or severely formed parts. This steel is produced by a closely controlled steelmaking practice designed to assure internal soundness, relative uniformity of chemical composition, and freedom from injurious imperfections.

The clinical recognition of acute lung disease caused by electronic cigarette (e-cigarette) usage has continued to grow. The identified pulmonary pathologies each include some degree of injury and/or inflammation. Electronic cigarettes contain chemicals that hold potential for acute pulmonary toxicity, including, but not limited to, nicotine, volatile organic compounds, and aldehydes.

Early-life exposure to humidifier disinfectant determines the prognosis of lung function in children
Use of humidifier disinfectants (HD) at home leads to chemical airborne exposure, causing HD associated lung injury (HDLI) with high mortality. However, the lung function in children diagnosed with HDLI is not well studied.

Sunburn injury is common on fruits in due to high solar radiation levels and air temperatures, low relative humidity, and high elevations. The incidence and severity of sunburn depends upon climatic factor, cultivars, hormonal, nutritional and soil moisture. Fruit production losses due to sunburn may be 6 to30 per cent depending on seasons and the type of fruit.

Integrated Pest Management is one of such systematic approach which emphasizes not only the reduction in the use of pesticides and keeping below the level of pest causing economic injury but also it facilitates the use of cultural, mechanical, botanical, biological and chemical methods of control in an integrated manner and restores ecological balance for sustainable agriculture. The present study was conducted in the selected Chomu and Bassi tehsils of Jaipur district of Rajasthan. Four villages from each selected tehsil were taken on the basis of maximum area under cauliflower cultivation.

The use of a wide range of chemicals to destroy pests and weeds is an important aspect of agricultural practice in both developed and developing countries. This has increased crop yield and reduced postharvest losses. However, the expanded use of such pesticides expectedly results in residues in foods, which has led to widespread concern over the potential adverse effects of these chemicals on human health.

Frenchbean, Phaseolus vulgaris L. (2n = 2x =22) is one of the most important leguminous vegetable grown for its tender fleshy green pods, shelled green seeds, and also dry beans. Cyanogenesis has been one of the important factors of plant defense mechanism. Many plants liberate HCN after mechanical or chemical injury to their cells or in course of fungal infection. The objective of current study was to correlate between the disease resistance against Anthracnose and HCN production in Frenchbean.

Cerebral hypoxia as often occurs in cases of stroke, hemorrhage, or other traumatic brain injuries, is one of the leading causes of death worldwide and a main driver of disabilities in the elderly. Using a chemical mimetic of hypoxia, cobalt chloride (CoCl2), we tested the ability of a novel small molecule, 4-chloro-N-(naphthalen-1-ylmethyl)-5-(3-(piperazin-1-yl)phenoxy)thiophene-2-sulfonamide (B355252), to alleviate CoCl2-induced damage in mouse hippocampal HT22 cells.
