Small molecules targeting telomeric DNA or its interactions with telomerase have been an active area of cancer research. In the present study, we investigated the interactions of six benzimidazole compounds, called azacyanines, differing from each other in alkyl chain length and branching in the benzimidazole ring (azamethyl, azaethyl, azapropyl, azaisopropyl, azabutyl, and azaisobutyl) with human telomeric DNA (tel24) in 1:1 and 1:6 ratio (tel24:azacyanine) using UV-Vis, circular dichroism (CD), and fluorescence spectroscopy.

The ignition delay times of methane/air mixture diluted by N2 and CO2 were experimentally measured in a chemical shock tube. The experiments were performed over the temperature range of 1300–2100 K, pressure range of 0.1–1.0 MPa, equivalence ratio range of 0.5–2.0 and for the dilution coefficients of 0%, 20% and 50%. The results suggest that a linear relationship exists between the reciprocal of temperature and the logarithm of the ignition delay times. Meanwhile, with ignition temperature and pressure increasing, the measured ignition delay times of methane/air mixture are decreasing.

The aim of this study was to study the conformational changing when sulfated groups were introduced to the molecular chain of native tamarind seed polysaccharide (TSP). Light Scattering (LS) method was used to determine conformation of TSP and its sulfated derivative TSPS. The results indicated that both TSP and TSPS have a highly branched and more sphere-like molecule; however, after sulfation, the TSPS became more branched structure than native polysaccharide.
