Cherry laurel is one of the most important cherry species and naturally grown in Black sea region in Turkey. Its fruits are sold at high price in local markets in northern parts of Turkey. Cherry laurel fruits are very perishable with a limited shelf life due to a high metabolic activity and susceptibility to mechanical damage and microbial attack. The effect of edible coatings (EC) based on caseinat, Semperfresh and lecithin on the fruit quality, bioactive content and antioxidant activity of cherry laurel fruits stored at 4 ± 1 °C for 15 days was evaluated.

Fruit set after successful pollination is key for the production of sweet cherries, and a low fruit-setting rate is the main problem in production of this crop. As gibberellin treatment can directly induce parthenogenesis and satisfy the hormone requirement during fruit growth and development, such treatment is an important strategy for improving the fruit-setting rate of sweet cherries.

Bud dormancy is a crucial stage in perennial trees and allows survival over winter to ensure optimal flowering and fruit production. Recent work highlighted physiological and molecular events occurring during bud dormancy in trees. However, they usually examined bud development or bud dormancy in isolation.

The private seed producing companies and public institutes have released many varieties and hybrids with particular characteristics like high yielding, enhanced fruit quality, tolerance to biotic and abiotic stress etc. But we may not have all these characters in a single variety or hybrids, so, we can go for grafting where the best characters of both scion and rootstock could efficiently utilized. The selection of particular rootstock and scion material depends on purpose of grafting, environmental conditions and objective of experiment.

The experimental study was conducted in the main cherry growing belts of Kashmir viz. Srinagar, Baramulla and Shopian districts during 2013 and 2014. Fruit weight and fruit volume recorded wide range of variability. Three accessions of cherry viz. KC-36, KC-37 and KC-40 recorded highest fruit weight and fruit volume. Most of the accessions were medium in stone weight except five wherein stone weight was small and in six accessions large stone weight was observed.

The present study was carried out to know the performance of cherry tomato genotypes for different traits attributing for growth, yield and quality in cherry tomato at the Division of Vegetable Crops College of Horticulture, Bagalkot (Karnataka), India during the period between September 2015 to February 2016. Among the genotypes used for investigation BCT-8 showed highest plant height (126.20 cm), highest number of primary (6.3) and secondary branches (13.5) and highest yield per plant in (1779.6g). Highest TSS was registered in BCT-27 (8.

The invasive fruit pest Drosophila suzukii was reported for the first time in Europe and the USA in 2008 and has spread since then. The adoption of type II clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats (CRISPR)/CRISPR-associated (Cas) as a tool for genome manipulation provides new ways to develop novel biotechnologicallybased pest control approaches.

Thyrostroma carpophilum, a causal agent of shot hole of stone fruits was isolated from the leaves of different stone fruit trees (Peach, Plum, Apricot, Cherry and Almond) collected from various locations of district Srinagar and Anantnag. Twenty isolates were collected and their pathogenicity was proved. Significant variation in cultural characteristics such as colony texture, colour and shape was found among the isolates. Two isolates showed different growth pattern. Isolate TC-H6 showed fluffy with olivaceous green and TC-R16 showed velvety growth pattern.

An experiment entitled Evaluation of cherry tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L. var. cerasiforme) genotypes for yield and quality parameters was conducted in the Department of Vegetable Science, College of Horticulture, Bengaluru, Karnataka during the year 2018-19. In present study, twenty one cherry tomato genotypes were evaluated for yield and quality parameters. Among different cherry tomato genotypes, maximum number of fruits per cluster was recorded in COHBT (8.75). Genotype COHBT-198 recorded maximum average fruit weight (43.90 g).

A study was conducted during 2018-2019 in the Department of Post Harvest Technology, Kittur Rani Channamma College of Horticulture, Arabhavi (UHS, Bagalkot), Karnataka. The experiment was consisted with nine different treatments viz., fruit juice concentration (25, 27.5 and 30%), TSS (40, 45 and 50º B) and acidity level (1.0%) are kept constant, each treatment was replicated thrice in completely randomized design. The results of west Indian cherry squash shows that there was a marginal decreasing trend with respect to parameter like TSS (45.00 to 36.10 °Brix), titratable acidity (1.58 to 1.
