Chickpea (Cicer arientinum L.)

A study was carried out in the fields of Department of Genetics and Plant Breeding, Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology and Sciences, Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh during 2018-2019. Fifty one genotypes of chickpea were evaluated for means and components of variability, heritability, genetic advance and interrelationships for various parameters, direct and indirect effect of various parameters for seed yield.

Chickpea is the second most important pulse crop in the world after dry bean. The aim of this study was to estimate the correlation coefficients between seed yield, morphological traits and yield components. Six generation of chickpea of two crosses were evaluated at Botany Section Farm, College of Agriculture, Dhule (Maharashtra) during Rabi, 2017. The field experiment was arranged in a randomized block design (RBD) with three replications.

Pigeonpea (Cajanus cajan) is a often cross-pollinated, diploid, grain. It is the fourth most important food legume in the world after dry bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.), field pea (Pisum sativum) and chickpea (Cicer arientinum L.) The present study on marketing cost, marketing margin and price spread of pigeonpea was conducted in Latur market. For the present study different marketing channels, marketing margins, price spread and producers share in consumer’s rupee were calculated. The study was conducted for the year 2017-2018 in Latur market.

The field experiment was conducted at the Department of Plant Pathology SHUATS during the rabi season, to investigate the “Effect of intercropping on purple blotch (Alternaria porri) of onion (Allium cepa L.)” a legume intercrops evaluated were. Chickpea (Cicer arientinum), pea (Pisum sativum), lentil (Lens esculantum), french bean (Phaseolus vulgaris), cluster bean (Cyamopsis tetragonoloba), the efficacy of the legume intercrops in reducing the foliar disease was compared to a fungicide carbendazim (0.1%).
