A field experiment was conducted at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Deendayal Research Institute, Majhagawan, Satna with the objective to find out compatible intercropping and row ratio with wheat. Three crops viz. chickpea, linseed and mustard intercropped with wheat under rainfed condition. It could be concluded that intercropping with chickpea in 2:2 row ratio was found to be significant.

A field experiment was conducted during rabi season of 2005-2006 at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Deendayal Research Institute, Majhagawan, Satna to studies on productivity and economic viability of various wheat based inter cropping systems under rain fed conditions of Kaymore Plateau. A field experiment was carried out during 2011-12 and 2012-13 at MPKV, Rahuri (M.S.), to evaluate the groundnut based cropping systems (groundnut-onion, groundnut-wheat and groundnut-chickpea) under different nutrient management treatments. The yield target of 25 q ha-1 was achieved in kharif groundnut by application of fertilizer as per STCR (23.08 and 24.49 q ha-1 ) equation with less than 10 % variation during both years of experimentations.

Field experiments were laid out in split-plot design with three modes of production (organic, integrated and inorganic) in main plots and four rice-based cropping systems [basmati rice-vegetable pea + coriander (CS1), basmati rice-chickpea + coriander (CS2), basmati rice-potato (CS3) and basmati rice-wheat (CS4)] in sub-plots with three replications in 2016 and 2017. Results revealed that organic mode of production resulted in higher growth and yield of basmati rice than inorganic mode of production during 13th and 14th year of the experimentation.

One hundred eighty five chickpea entries received from AICRP (All India Coordinated Research Project) on Chickpea, were evaluated at Raipur under field condition during the year 2016-17 to identify sources of genetic resistant against collar rot disease incited by the fungus Sclerotium rolfsii. The fungus was isolated from diseased chickpea plants collected from research farm at seedling and vegetative stage of the crop, purified and maintained on PDA for further screening process.

In conventional tillage, the traditional practice of opening and turning the soil greatly contributes towards the quick oxidation of organic matter in the soil, quantitative loss of residual soil moisture and high labour and energy input thereby resulting in the poor economic returns for the farmers. However, in some situations tillage causes the soil degradation which results into development of compacted soil having low soil organic carbon (SOC) and restricted drainage.

The other aim is to apply game theory to field crops. The game theory model was used for main field crops, namely wheat, barley, maize, chickpea, sesame, cotton and groundnut, in Antalya province in Turkey.
