A field experiment was conducted during the rabi seasons of 2016-17 and 2017-18 at Kanpur to study the relative productivity and profitability of intercropping systems on light textured soil under rainfed condition. On the basis of 2 years data revealed that intercropping system, namely, mustard + chickpea additive sowing found superior as compared to other treatments in productivity, water use efficiency, net return and benefit: cost ratio. Correlation and path analysis was worked out among thirty chickpea genotypes with three replications under both rainfed and irrigated conditions utilising yield, drought tolerant traits and mechanical harvestable traits during rabi, 2018 at Regional Agricultural Research Station, Nandyal, Andhra Pradesh, India. Biological yield per plot and harvest index exhibited significant positive correlation with seed yield and drought tolerance index. 100 seed weight and number of pods per plant also contributed positively to DTI and seed yield under rainfed conditions.

A field experiment was conducted at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Deendayal Research Institute, Majhagawan, Satna with the objective to find out compatible intercropping and row ratio with wheat. Three crops viz. chickpea, linseed and mustard intercropped with wheat under rainfed condition. It could be concluded that intercropping with chickpea in 2:2 row ratio was found to be significant.

A field experiment was conducted at Agriculture Research Station, Annigeri, University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad during Rabi season of 2015-16 to find out the effects of integrated weed management practices on nutrient uptake by weeds and chickpea under rainfed condition. Rich genetic potential with wide spectrum of genetic variability is a key factor behind a successful breeding programme. New recombinants can be generated through crossing between highly diverse parents. Genetically diverse 281 RILs and their parents were grown in randomized block design in two replications under rainfed and irrigated conditions during rabi 2011-12 and 2012-13. Categorization of RILs was done by using standard statistical procedure based on qualitative and quantitative traits. RILs were evaluated for traits name.
