Home visiting programmes aiming to support parents and promote more equal health amongst young children have grown in Sweden and in other countries. These programmes involve interprofessional teams. Teamwork in interprofessional contexts often requires setting boundaries, but professionals’ boundary work in the home setting is unexplored.

The main method followed for this review included searching by snowballing and pubmed, collecting and reviewing published and unpublished materials on MNCH interventions. Recent evaluations and relevant documentations of different MNCH programmes were also consulted. Around 100 published articles from books, booklets, journals, reports, leaflets and web pages were reviewed.

Recent federal trends reflect a growing enthusiasm for such change. It addresses the patient journey through pre-hospital care, referral, diagnostic testing, disease management, follow-up care and rehabilitation and considers public health issues.
